Map Files:

All Map Files are generated by myself using various tools. They are generated from dats created by Logiqx or in certain cases, the emulator itself. If a specific Map File is needed or an update to an existing one, please post in the forums for a request and it will be posted.

ParaJVE 0.6.0 - While ParaJVE doesn't really require a loader, the edited ParaJVE.bat file makes it cab-friendly for GameEx.

Note: This Loader is no longer required since the release of version 0.7.0. It can now can be launched from command-line. Please view the new command-line settings in the Emulator Configuration Section.

Features:

  • Passes ROM name to Emulator
  • Turns fullscreen to on
  • Turns menu off

Note: These features can be altered by editing the ParaJVE.bat file to the desired settings. Documentation on the settings can be found here.

Requirements:

  • Map File is required to pass the Game ID to the Emulator (located in Archives Section)
  • An Advanced Config is required to watch the javaw.exe Process so GameEx won't steal focus
  • Edited ParaJVE.bat file (located below)

Usage:
ParaJVE.bat [ROM]

Loaders (Wrappers) By Tempest

Radikal Loader:

  1. Double click on radikalb.exe to start Radikal Bikers
  2. Set Controls, and Video mode settings
  3. Click "Start"
  4. After Radikal Bikers Starts, press "Esc" to exit.
  5. Place RadikalLoader.exe into the same folder as radikalb.exe
  6. Use RadikalLoader.exe as your command
  7. Use an advanced config if you want to remap keys

RadikalLoader.7z

Vivanonno Loader:

Pretty much the same as Radikal Loader. Run Vivaonno.exe, and change the settings to suit yourself. Put VivanonnoLoader.exe into the same folder as vivaonno.exe, and use VivanonnoLoader.exe "[Rom]" as your command.

You will probably need to set ShowDesktop to "Yes"

VivanonnoLoader.7z

Aquarius Loader:

Put your roms, AqEmu.exe, and AquariusLoader.exe into the same folder.

Use AquariusLoader.Exe "[RomFile]" as your command.

AquariusLoader.7z

Project Tempest Loader:

Put ProjectTempestLoader.exe into the same folder as Pt.exe

Use ProjectTempestLoader.Exe "[RomPath]\[RomFile]" as your command.

ProjectTempestLoader.7z

WinApe Loader:

Follow Hansolo77s instructions in this thread: http://www.gameex.in...h...c=2668&st=0

Use this loader in place of the one that no longer exists.

Put WinApeLoader.exe into the same folder as WinApe.exe

Use WinApeLoader.Exe "[RomPath]\[RomFile]" as your command.

WinApeLoader.7z

Visual Pinball Loader:

This is a loader to hide the windows that open when VPinball is executed. Inside the .7z, you will find:

[Mapping Off] Exit (ESC+Q).ini - Advanced config (Copy to: GameEx\CONFIG\EMULATORS)

VPinball.ini - Emulator Config (Use the 'Import' Button - Make sure to check your paths)

VPinball.png - Image used to hide VPinball (You can use your own image, make sure it's named VPinBall.png)

VpinBallLoader.exe - Loader Program

If you already have Vpinball setup in GameEX,

Use: "C:\Vpinball\VPinballLoader.exe" "[ROMFILE]" "[WORKINGPATH]" as your Command, adjusting the path of course.

VPinballLoader.7z

FreeDo Loader:

Put FreeDoLoader.exe into the same folder as FreeDo.exe

Use FreeDo_Loader.Exe "[RomPath]\[RomFile]" as your command.

FreeDo_Loader.7z

MiniMon Loader:

Put MiniMonloader.exe into the same folder as MiniMon.exe

Use Minimonloader.Exe "[RomPath]\[RomFile]" as your command.

MinimonLoader.7z

Philips Cd-i Loader:

Choose these options from the cdiemu-0.5.2 Options > Settings menu

post-2333-125364956148_thumb.jpg

Put Philips_Cd-i_Loader.exe into the same folder as wcdiemu.exe

Use Philips_Cd-i_Loader.exe "[RomFile]" as your command.

Philips_Cd-i_Loader.7z

GeePee32 Loader:

Turn Off Splash screen as shown here:

post-2333-125435678384_thumb.jpg

Put GeePee32_Loader.exe into the same folder as geepee32.exe

Use GeePee32_Loader "[RomPath]\[RomFile]" as your command.

GeePee32_Loader.7z

JPCSP:

Usage: JPCSP_Loader "Parameters" "[RomPath]\[RomFile]"

Example: JPCSP_Loader "-Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=64m -Djava.library.path=lib/windows-x86 -jar bin/jpcsp.jar -u" "[RomPath]\[RomFile]"

I made a AutoIt script for Sega Saturn SSF Emulator. If you use it, you have a problem, you must configure region for each game, Usa, European or Japanese titles. The script detects the rom filename if it has got (U), (E) or (J) and then it executes a version of SSF in different folders that they are in different regions ( "SSF (E) folder, SSF (J) folder and SSF (U) folder for example". In GameEx setup for this emulator you have to put "SSF_Region.exe [ROM]" in command lines (SSF_Region.exe is the name of the compiled script exe). Here is the AutoIt Script, you must change the path of your different SSF versions region preconfigured:

$RegionU = StringInStr ( $CMDLineRAW, "(U)", 0)

$RegionE = StringInStr ( $CMDLineRAW, "(E)", 0)

$RegionJ = StringInStr ( $CMDLineRAW, "(J)", 0)

If $RegionU <> 0 Then

Run ("L:\Emuladores\Sega Saturn\SSF\SSF.exe")

Sleep (3000)

ProcessWaitClose ( "SSF.exe" )

Exit

ElseIf $RegionE <> 0 Then

Run ("L:\Emuladores\Sega Saturn\SSF (E)\SSF.exe")

Sleep (3000)

ProcessWaitClose ( "SSF.exe" )

Exit

ElseIf $RegionJ <> 0 Then

Run ("L:\Emuladores\Sega Saturn\SSF (J)\SSF.exe")

Sleep (3000)

ProcessWaitClose ( "SSF.exe" )

Exit

Else

Run ("L:\Emuladores\Sega Saturn\SSF\SSF.exe")

Sleep (3000)

ProcessWaitClose ( "SSF.exe" )

Exit

EndIf

I Hope it helps you.

I made a wrapper to work with NullDC, which work fine on 5 tested computers. OBS works only with nullDC_1.0.3_nommu.exe. If you are using some other version, amend according to that one. First have a look on gameex emulator config file.

The param1 is for recieving the parameter "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" wich is sent from gameex. Just to show, I included 2 more paramters which not are used in this wrapper, but if someone would like to use this for some own wrapper utility, you know how to implement it.

Send, {ALTDOWN}fn{ALTUP} opens select boot image file

send {TAB 2} activate input and selects all text allready input

send {DEL} deletes the text

Send %1%{ENTER} inserts "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" end presses ENTER and off you go

I just use the following command line in GameEx for Spectaculator:

Spectaculator.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

With the usual Rom Filters being:

*.tap;*.tzx;*.z80

I found this in the forum.

I've made a AHK script for you to try...

Extract KaraFunLauncherEXE.zip to your KaraFun directory (default is "C:\Program Files\KaraFun\")

Make sure you have KaraFun set to start in fullscreen

In your EmuConfig set the command line to:

KaraFunLauncher.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

Thats it... the script will launch karaFun and your file then wait for the fullscreen display to close before closing KaraFun which should return you back to GameEx

I haven't tested it from within GameEx because I'm not near my cabinet so let me know how you get on

The uncompiled script is in the KaraFunLauncherSource.zip if you want to see how it's done

ePSXe/Delta 2 Loader

This is a simple loader that orchestrates launching (and closing) Delta 2 from GameEx

which in turn launches ePSXe. With this loader you can launch all of your PSX games

with settings on a per game basis. This is an invaluable feature to have if you want

to be able to play a large selection of PSX games directly from GameEx - which is why

I am making this available :)

Here are the steps you'll need to take to get this working:

Step 1) Extract this archive file (epsxeloader.7z) to Delta 2's root folder.

Step 2) Make sure you have configured all of your '.dt2' files with Delta 2.

MOOBY2 IMAGE PLUGIN WILL NOT WORK! So make sure you set up each iso

with the internal ePSXe image plugin.

Step 3) Make settings adjustments in 'GameEx.ini' as follows

Set 'ROMFilter' to '*.dt2'

Set 'RomPath' to the folder where your '.dt2' config files are

Set 'WorkingPath' to Delta 2's root folder

Set 'Command' to 'epsxestart.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"'

Here's what my config looks like:

[Emulator_10]

Enabled=True

STARTPAGENAME=[Console] Sony PlayStation (ePSXe)

Step 4) Load up GameEx and launch a game - obviously you need to have the iso

on the hard drive and, once again, fully configured in Delta 2. When

you are finished playing, press the 'Esc' key to return to GameEx.

Here is the updated database and games for ScummVM 1.1.1. There is now 109 games playable and listed. All credit to Headkaze and Greatflash for the original work.

EDIT: Forgot 2 games when I did the update. They are now added and now total 111 games now.

FINAL EDIT: The Database is now 100% with game descriptions and full info. So grab v3.

I'm pretty sure you can use an advanced config, and set up additional processes for GameEx to watch.

Yes it should. As well as watching for the additional processes, upon exiting with a combo or hot key, GameEx should also try to close the "watched" processes.

Commodore 64 Database update:

Using Great Flash's original work to build on, I added in as many Good and NoIntro names as I could find. It is not the complete definitive game database, but it will cover many of the more notable and popular games we all remember from back in the 80's.

I will try to keep updating it as time goes on, and if I find a good Tosec list to build from, I will add them as well. But for now, this should be a very comprehensive start at 2179 games listed. :)

All the best,

IMBerZerk

[attachment deleted] - Database has been updated since posting, use from list below.

Database Flood... new and updates.

OK, here are the latest revisions of some present databases and a few new 'old skool' ones as well. Bare (or 'bear') in mind that this WILL effect your games and how they are displayed. I've been able to link many titles in the various databases, but most likely, unless you view the databases and check your ROM/artwork file names, you won't see the changes, and some will loose their info as well. Before installing, make back-ups of your present databases so you can always fall back in case you are not happy with the results. Please don't hold me responsible if your PC blow-up, just fall back to what you had prior.

Here are some examples of what has changed:

1. Spy vs. Spy was changed to Spy vs Spy in all listed databases, and will be the same throughout as it allows the C64, GameBoy Color, SMS versions to link

2. Ghosts'n Goblins which is often listed as Ghosts 'N Goblins, or Ghosts N' Goblins which is wrong. It's now Ghosts'n Goblins, which will link the several versions. Same for Q-Bert, Pac-Man .. etc.

3. Some game names were changed so that they would link to their MAME counterparts. Games like Elevator Action in the GBC database were listed as Elevator Action GB... the 'GB' was dropped from the nameset so that it will link with the MAME and other console versions.

4. Many games that had an 'II' instead of a numeric '2' in the title were changed to the '2' as they show in the title screen and box/cart artwork.

I've tested these on my set, however, again, you're going to have to do some more work to get it straight on your set. If you want GameEx to link and show all the variations, it's a lot of work, but I've done the hard part for you. Unfortunately, because several folks have created the many databases in GameEx, using Good Names, No-Intro or TOSEC, there are different combinations of the same name in different databases. Most, but not all of the below databases have changes to the 'No-Intro' and or 'Good Name' lists. Also, punctuation effects the name, if a comma is in different spots... it won't link. I sorted as many issues as I could find as well.

Maybe some day I can go through more, but after the Genesis (over 900+), and Game Boy Advance (over 600+) ... I don't know...

Anyway... here they are... I will be posting updates from this thread, so come back now and then and check. Present WIP is the Game Boy database. The one listed has been cleaned up a little, in the No-Into list. All Databases created using MS Access.

All the best,

IMB

Great googly-moogly! Awesome job, IMB! While my current setup is mainly MAME/Pinball oriented with possible Nintendo (N64 and prior) and Sega (Genesis and prior) in the not-so-distant future, I can see that I will have some good resources to tap into!

Hey IMBerzerk, have you made or started a Daphne/laserdisc database? I can't seem to even find a database option for one in the Daphne Advanced Configuration anyway. Might have to be a Feature Request....

For those interested in Interactive Fiction (or Text Adventures) using interpreters such as <a href="http://www.ifarchive.org/if-archive/infocom/interpreters/frotz/WindowsFrotzInstaller.exe" class="bbc_url" title="External link" rel="nofollow">Windows Frotz</a> I have compiled a DB based upon the offerings from Infocom and Adventure International (Scott Adams, et al). I have also included a copy of my emulator ini file.

Vice Commodore Vic20 Emulator Zip Setup

--------------------------------------------------

This Config allows you to run commodore Vic20 roms that are zipped.

You may ask, why would i want to run them as zips when they are so small already? The main reason is that a lot of the good vic20 rom sets are already zipped and tidy. I used GameBaseVic20, Tosec, and No-intro sets to check this config.

Second thing that this config tries to do is to determine what memory banks need to be active to run the game image. If you have a unexpanded 3k game and try to run it on a vic20 with 24k of expanded - it will not run. same rule applies for many different sizes. I have checked over 200 images and all runs fine. I have not checked cartridges fully, but it should recognise what memory area the cart needs to load into and run (unless the cartridge needs a SYS call to run it - then it is time for you to type on the Vic)

This works the same way as my c64 config.

so... Place the contents of 'VIC.RAR' in your Vice emulators root directory and import the emu config in 'Vic20EmConfig.RAR' remembering to change your paths.

Set Xvic.exe to how you wish (it will auto to fullscreen) and run the wonderful GameEx.

Hope all goes well...

If there are any probs or suggestions, please open a thread and i will see what i can do..

UPDATE: Vic.rar updated. Found problems with a couple of carts not running. Fixed and carts now load to correct memory space. All tested work!

This is an old post, but I have a new problem. I extracted everything and imported just like you said. GameEx doesn't run the rom. Checked runitgame.bat and copied the command line. Opened command prompt and ran the line. I get a window that pops up and says the unzip program is incompatible with x64 Windows. Is there anyway to replace unzip32.exe with an "unzip64.exe"? I tried googling it, but I'm not coming up with anything. Of course, if I could find an unzip64, i'd just rename it to unzip32.exe so the bat/cmd file would run properly.

For my 100th post I am providing a launcher for nullDC. The purpose is to support loading ROMs from multiple regions from one ROMPATH with one emulator entry in GameEx. This will launch nullDC using one of three nullDC.cfg files. Each cfg file is configured to support a region. It detects the correct region by looking for strings in file names located in the extracted files in the ROMPATH dir. It then copies the correct cfg file containing the matching region setting to the root of the nullDC folder.

Requirements:

ROMs for all three regions must be in the same folder

ROMs must be zipped (feature available only to registered GameEx versions)

ROMs named using TOSEC naming convention or names contain “(PAL)”, “(US)” or “(JP)”

nullDC is already working correctly for one of the regions

Setting it up:

Copy the NullDCRegionLoader.txt file attached to this post to the root of the nullDC folder and rename it to NullDCRegionLoader.bat

Make three copies of the current working nullDC.cfg file located in the root of the nullDC folder. The files should be named:

nullDC_USA.cfg

nullDC_JAP.cfg

nullDC_EUR.cfg

Edit each of these files and change the Dreamcast.Region setting as follows:

nullDC_USA.cfg Dreamcast.Region=1

nullDC_JAP.cfg Dreamcast.Region=0

nullDC_EUR.cfg Dreamcast.Region=2

In the emulator config for nullDC in GameEx modify the LaunchBefore setting. Add the following line in the LaunchBefore setting:

call "NullDCRegionLoader.bat" "[ROMPATH]"

NullDCRegionLoader.txt

Here's a wrapper for ePSXecutor. That's right, this is a wrapper for a frontend for an emulator of a game console. :D So why on earth would one need such a thing? Well ... hmm ... good question ... um ... you probably don't? Among other things this will enable you to run ePSXecutor in GameEx without having to configure an advanced emulator config. This in turn should make it a bit easier to use SwitchDisc in combination with ePSXecutor through GameEx.

Usage details can be found in the readme. Hopefully someone gets some use out of this. Thanks!

Change Log

1.0.1

  • Minor enhancement to better support (and simplify) SwitchDisc integration
