[RESOLVED] Groups / Lists Question

Groups / Lists Question: Bit confused on what is used for what.

I only have Visual Pinball installed and would like to be able to select somewhere (Group or List?) that would show me my tables based on either Favourites or VPin Workshop tables. I can assign a Favourite tag OK but how do I create and view a list / group that I can call 'VPin Workshop' and add my tables to it?

Best way is to create a filter.

Filters can be a word or phrase  on a specific field

A list is a custom database file  that must be mainted manually.

A group can contains multiple database files and will show them as 1 group.

All listed in the "lists" menu option.

(I thought I added all i fo in the PinballX manual, but not sure. Databasemanager has a pretty good interface for creating lists, groups and filters)

Flagged as resolved already so i guess the answer was found (in the documentation? ), and yes there are a lot of options to do what you want.

I'd agree active filters are probably the easiest and most flexible (especially if using database manager to build the filters - see bottom of this post https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/23840-app-pinballx-database-manager-2211220-supports-touch-play-and-pbx-w7vista-version-as-well/?do=findComment&comment=201644)

I did try and delete the post but couldn't find the DELETE option 🤣

In the end I created a new list but reading your reply with filters seems a much more elegant solution...will have a go tomorrow, thanks!
