[RESOLVED] GameEX Arcade will launch a Steam game, but then will exit back to GameEX

Some of the Steam titles will launch, but then after about 1 minute the game will close and exit back to GameEX, this seems to happen to most of the Steam games I have installed except for a few titles. I am on Windows 11 22H2 , but I'm not sure if this is a Steam issue or a GameEX Arcade issue. Also in Windows 11 you are automatically signed into Steam, instead of signing in and out as before. This is a constant issue with Dead or Alive 6, Bionic Commando and a few other games

Please attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files from when this issue occurs.

The only time I have seen something similar to this happen is if the device is not recognized by Steam and/or there is an MFA request being sent.

I am not seeing any errors in the log.txt file to explain what you are experiencing. Likewise, I have not been able to recreate the errors as described when launching/playing Steam titles via Arcade Edition. I use Windows 11.

I still contend that it may be an issue with their multifactor authentication coming into play as they have made many changes since the integrated Steam support was introduced into GameEx.

There are some that still run Steam as a separate emulator. The threads below are old and some of the content may not work, but may be worth a shot and provide a direction and possibly still a better working alternative:

Well, I think GameEX arcade needs to be updated to somehow launch Steam games as advertised. I purchased the full version mainly for this feature,  I am hoping the program gets updated to work with the newest Steam version.

It may or may not since it has yet to be determined that it is a GameEx Arcade issue or otherwise. That will be an @Tom Speirscall.

I cannot build my arcade cabinet until this program gets updated. I went to the showlog file and pulled this up. Maybe this will help in updating GameEX.

Strangely  It now seems to be working, but I omitted the login info within the GameEX  online and now every Steam game launches and I am able to play them....there must be a automatic login or script bug within GameEX Arcade. This seems to work for Windows 10 and 11. I think Steam auto signs in your account so GameEX does not need to login and logout anymore, however I could be wrong.

I thought that you said that omitting the login information resolved the issue for you? Color me confuzzled.

Well, I figured that the login info should be there ....lol

I think it can be leveraged with just being enabled without as you discovered. The credentials are not necessary.
