Playfield screen not 'full screen' when returning to PBX after playing one game

Hey guys, I hope someone can help me.

background:

I switched my PC for a complete new PC in my cab.
During the same process. I switched my 40"4k TV to a 39.5" curved QHD monitor.
I reinstalled PinballX, but copied to Config files, database files and media files.
In the config files, I still have startup and exit scripts, but the files are not there , so they don't do anything.

I have 2 issues (And split them into 2 different topics)

When I start PinballX, my playfield screen (with wheels etc) looks normal, but when I start a game, and close it, the playfield screen has black borders (Looks like the resolution is a bit smaller)
I can see the image of the '4th' wheel on the right side.
it looks like all is there, but zoomed out.

I made a video and 2 photo's.
On the video it is hard to see (that's why I added some photo's as well)

On first run of PinballX

After selecting one game and returning to pinballx (notice the Popeye that is starting on the right, next to POTC)

All the help will be appreciated

Weird. Does it happen with all emulators Mike?

I just setup 1 emulator (99.9% of the tables are vpx) ... give me some days extra to check/install for other emulators as well.

Ahh, ok - was just wondering if it was somehow related to VPX fullscreen or some other setting there. Maybe try changing the VPX launch parameters to an invalid exe just to see what happens on return to the wheel after a failed launch.

Trust you to find find odd behaviour during a hardware upgrade :P

@Tom Speirs
Hey Tom, sorry to bother you, but setting my monitor to 165HZ causes this issue.
Putting it 144HZ will return fine to PBX. There was another post where the monitor refresh rate was set to 240 HZ and PBX didn't show anything

Is this something where you can update the playfield function for higher refresh rates or something ?

Hey Mike,

I will have a look. I wonder if its a Direct3D compatibility issue. Perhaps vsync related, It was discontued long before we had the refresh rates we have now.

Hard for me to duplicate though unfortunately. Best I got is 144Mhz.

I know.
Must we do a crowdfunding or donations, so you can buy a 240Mhz screen to test all ? :P
I've setup the cab now for 144Hz as it runs smooth as well (and much better than my 60Hz TV !)

In an alternative universe with an infinity drive that might actually happen, assuming I was lucky.

I have a theory.

This worked previously on my 240hz screen.

But not on my new 240hz screen.

Difference here is resolution. My new screen is higher res.

Maybe the screen would work again if I set my screen to 1080@240hz.

Will try to remember to test this when I get home. Setting reminder.

That did not help.

Nvidia gpu.

Turning variable refresh rate on and off (on in the monitor menu) disables sound, even in menus.
