GTX 1060 3gb to GTX 1080 ti upgrade - worth it to decrease load time?

My current cabinet system runs games well without stutter but it takes longer than I like to load tables and backgrounds.  I have an I7 processor with a viewsonic commercial monitor playfield and a AOC 27in 5msec monitor for backglass.  Would upgradding the video board make a big difference in loading times? I am running under windows 7.

Any  recommendations would be appreciated.

It may make some difference (how long are your load times?), but probably not much from my experience when i upgraded from a GTX1060 6GB to a GTX1080. But it will enable you to turn on more bells and whistles in VPX video preferences (or run at a higher screen refresh rate if your monitor allows it)

Best things to speed up load time would be to use SSD rather than HD (if you are) and make sure your have AV / Defender exclusions set.

Load times can be up to almost a minute for complex tables -  much shorter for simpler tables.  I have a ssd with AV/defender off since this is a dedicated cabinet.

That is slow.. other things to check

Do you use teamviewer? apparently that has a large impact on load times, as does running VPX as admin. Also make sure you have texture compression unchecked in VPX video prefs.

Are you using vpx 10.7 ?  Of so, try to remove the" run as admin."

I have team viewer running and when i use it, it takes a much longer time to load a table.

Between loading a table a running it it gets in "not responding". So instead of loading in a couple of seconds,  it takes a couple of minutes.

I run on a i7 7600, 16gb of mem with an rtx 2070. So your graphics upgrade will not help

Yep - just upgraded to 10.7.  "Running as admin" because that's what people have said I show do when i first installed several years ago.  No team viewer or really any other SW running as this is a dedicated pinball cabinet.  System goes straight into PINBALLX on startup.

Will try unchecking the "run as admin" tomorrow and see if that makes a difference.

Another option will be to have also a visualpinball.exe from 10.6 in your folder. And use alternate exe for the tables that doesn't require 10.7
