[RESOLVED] Space Invaders Theme Draco1962

@Draco1962 I had something pop up yesterday that I almost didn't notice. I'm using your Space Invaders theme (NOT the HD one - I'll get to that in a second) and I got the usual pop-up box for confirmation and noticed it's blank. It works as normal (select for yes back for no) but there's no text. So I went and checked my arcade cabinet and it seems this is the same there as well. Now I know it's an 11-12 year old theme and things change it just caught my eye this time. I did delete and re-install both and the behavior is the same.

 

Also of note: I tried out the HD version and GameEx loads but none of the graphics work. I basically get a black screen that is segregated correctly based on the theme but there's no Space Invaders graphics. Sounds are all on point.

Can you attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files? 

I will test these when I get a chance. It has been a while since I last loaded either theme.

Didn't mean to turn this into a support thing I just didn't know if you knew. Sorry about that. :)

Having said that these are my favorite themes so thanks for taking a peek. :)

Not a problem. I can't believe that they are that old.

I believe this was a bug I introduced (the text). Its fixed now. New version out shortly.

Just to wrap up the major issue - I downloaded the latest file which looks like 16.89 and updated GameEx. The text box in the Space Invaders theme displays correctly again.

As an aside the Space Invaders HD theme still displays the same black screen. Now keep in mind I don't use the HD version so it's NOT a complaint more like an FYI if you wanted to look at it.

I am able to replicate the issue with the Space Invaders HD as well as several other themes. I attempted to open them in Theme Editor and I am getting various error prompts and the themes will not load.

I don't know but suspect that there may an issue with changes in shared libraries between GameEx and Theme Editor, but this is just a guess as I am not the author so Tom will have to confirm that assumption correct or not.

I haven't any more time today but will attempt to load the themes and provide error messages as I can.

I didn't test the theme editor but the background issue is fixed for the next release.

PS: Theme editor issues look like they are down to uninstalled fonts.

I'll take a look at the instalked fonts on my side to see what is missing.

Yeah, looks like that is all it is. Not a biggie. If the error is something about measurestrig or fonts.

I have tried loading a few of the same themes into Theme Editor with no issues. The themes also load in GameEx so marking resolved with the latest update.

Just to add my $0.02 - I updated GameEx on the Qosmio laptop tonight and it is displaying the HD theme just fine. Thank you!
