 Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner, so, sorry if ever I post my questions in the wrong section.

I would like to know if it's possible to launch several MAME emulators in GameEX instead of one only. It's very important for me because I use, for example, one MAME for vertical games and another one for horizontal games with specific settings and filters.

And one last important question : Does GameEx hide Windows OS to be launched when the PC starts running ?

Thank you in advance for your answers & have a nice day,

I would think that at the very least you could run one MAME version via the GameEx integrated MAME feature (which has filter options built in) and another configured in an emulator slot.

I've never specifically tried this,  but suppose you could as long as you give them recognizable names and directories to distinguish them apart in the paths and within the GameEx Menus.

Even so, it's gong to get awfully confusing and filter options already exist in the GameEx Integrated MAME feature that makes it easy as just selecting them from the menu, Vector Games, Atari Games, etc.

I would really suggest playing around with that first in an effort to circumvent a lot of extra work, as you may be able to achieve your goal quite easily just with this feature..

By default, no, but it can be done.

Yes, it can certainly be done but best start with the basics. In a nutshell though - Once you have used the built in way of setting up MAME as deigned, it will create an up to date database that can then be used to setup multuple versions of MAME as a standard emulator with use "database names" You could then use a group to make a single list. You will lose some of the GameEx specific MAME features such as bypass disclaimers, recommended games, control panel, fighting game commands and 3D cabinets.

If you want different settings for vertical games you can do this in MAME without two separate versions by using vertical.ini in MAME. There is also horizontal.ini and vector.ini and per game .ini. It is a feauture of MAME not the front end.

Thank you so much for your replies, guys ;-)

I gonna check again the settings in my Mame for sure, especially the vertical.ini and the horizontal.ini. It's a good start to modify my configuration.

Thx again & take care,
