stephenp1983
I am wanting a customized theme to match the theme of my cabinet. I honestly don't have the time or skill to do something like this right now. I would be willing to paypal whoever can do this an amount between 10-20 dollars for their work, or make a donation to this site or one of your choosing. THe theme for my cabinet is a Goonies cab. I have the marquee as VS the goonies, but will have some custom sideart in the works. So basicly I want a gameex theme to go along with the cabinet, like some of the people at byoac have for their cabs. I have some images already select that could be used, but don't have to be. IF anyone is interested in doing this please let me know. Here are the images:This is what the sideart looks like except alot bigger. I have this smaller version that I thought would be neat to incorporate, but it might be hard.http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/5182/goon2yl3.pngHere is a pretty nice background that might workhttp://img170.imageshack.us/img170/9231/kykidswill2wv2.jpgAnother image, dont really know about it. http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/5803/go...35889833yd7.jpgthese are from the goonies playing cards, but individually cut out I think they would be neat to incorporate somehow. I have these in the picture already edited, and the rest of the cast with lettering still on the cards that I can upload if needed.http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/2218/gooniesnr5.jpgSo if anyone would take this task please PM me or post here, thanks

stephenp1983
Yes, there was a Goonies cab. I've played it!Yes I believe so, I know there is a Goonies 1 and 2 for Nes, although the first one was not very well known on the NES. Then you have the Vs the goonies and Playchoice goonies which are both the same game on the arcade. The goonies 1 on the NES looks to be just like vs the goonies, and playchoice goonies. Was there another one on the arcade that was different?
amos_82
I might have a go, free of charge. What size do you want , ie 800x600? Any colour schemes already on your cab?
stephenp1983
Amos, I really appreciate your attempting this. Like I said I don't mind paying you or the site. Anyway the cab itself is black, with a vs the goonies marquee, and will have the images posted above as the side art(http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/5182/goon2yl3.png) which will stretch down the side of the cabinet at about 27 inches wide by 39 inches long or a little less. Here is what the marquee looks like, but feel free to choose whatever colors you think look best. 800*600 would be great.http://www.klov.com/images/V/mVs._The_Goonies.jpg

stephenp1983
Yeah I think the Vs the Goonies and the Playchoice are the same game just in different cabinets. It looked like the playchoice had dual monitors.Taken from klov:TriviaOne interesting note about this game is that although it could be found in the PlayChoice and Nintendo Vs. System cabinets, it was never offered for retail sale for the NES in America. The sequel was sold in the US, but did it not keep the same play mechanics. night
the Goonies was released on the C64 as well for those who like the game its alittle differents from the Nes version ...http://www.gamebase64.com/game.php?id=3225&d=18&h=
amos_82
Here it is so far, Its using the marquee and sidepanel art, & the background is the actual map from the film Im just having a bit of trouble with colour scheme because of the light background, (it would be cool if there was an option to change the font colour when the game is highlighted). Also the layout needs to be tweeked, but right now im tweeked, so im gonna leave it for tonight p.s. Stephen, im happy to change things to suit your cab, just shout. stephenp1983
You are never going to believe this katuuuz lol. Amos that looks great, katuuuz is also working on a design for me as well. We were trying to come up with a background image and I google the treasure map because its a big part of the movie. I just want to assure katuuuz that I hadn't looked at my thread when I recommend it lol its just a big conincidence.

hansolo77
I grabbed the DVD from the Library a few months ago. It's great. They have an extra feature where they have the original cast doing a live feature length video commentary on it. The movie is in the background, and the have a popup window in the foreground with all the original cast and the director (I think it was the director). It's really neat, and fun to watch. stephenp1983
katuuuz, couldn't get the theme to work last night. I was using an older version of gameex like 6.23 so that could be the cause. I will try adding it on my laptop which has the newest version. Everytime I loaded it would crash and give an error log. If I still can't get it to work tonight I will post the log

amos_82
Hey stephen,i've just finished the theme now, there's also an intro movie which plays after the loading screen, i though it would be a nice touch for your cab. Some more snaps:There's a couple of things worth mentioning: - You need to install the 'digital.ttf' font from the 'default - the goonies/fonts' folder for it to work.or you can use the 'Microsoft Sans Serif- Font theme.ini' which looks good too. - Also if the theme is stored in a location other than:'C:\Program Files\GameEx\THEMES\Default - The Goonies' you will need to change the 'StartupVideo=' in the theme.ini in order for the intro movie to play. - Finally, if you need more backgrounds, you can use the 'background maker' photoshop file, or pm me.Hope you like it Download from SendSpace: Default - The Goonies.zip (28MB)

amos_82
Gspot wont recognise it because its a wmv file, i made it using windows movie maker, so there wasn't any fancy encoding. I downloaded the video, and its working fine for me. Its strange
