DGP
Hello, I have color roms that load perfect with VPX standalone but will not load color when using the PinballX front end... ideas, solution? Thank you, any insight would be much appreciated. *NOTE: I noticed that sometimes it will come up in color but then it's as if something with PinballX overrides the color and reverts back to default (red/orange). I also noticed that when exiting the game the DMD will flash in color as it exits.
Draco1962
Please attach copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files. Also, examples of pins that exhibit the behavior, if you are using a real DMD or monitor, if a DMD, what model.
DGP
Hello, thank you for the response, files attached. The current table that I am working with regarding this issue is the latest Metallica VPX from VPW, I am using rom mtl_180hc (with the .pal in altcolor). I am not using a real DMD, this is on a 3 screen setup with an LCD. Thanks again! * I tried the Enable Color for RealDMD option just in case and it made no difference (as expected). scutters
There is a chance you have both external dmd (freezy in colour) and the vpinmame dmd being displayed at the same time, but the colour dmd is appearing behind the vpinmame dmd. Can you try ALT+TAB to confirm. If that's the case then you can change the vpinmame settings to hide the vpm dmd.

DGP
BINGO ! That was it, had dual DMD's. I am no vpin expert but confused as to why PinballX would trigger this behavior when I changed the B2S DMD setting to hidden (should this not have also made a difference using VPX standalone). No matter... it's fixed. Thanks again scutters, much appreciated! Thank you Draco for looking into it, great assistance! Take care and stay safe
scutters
My guess is you had two dmd's on the same screen with just vpx running, but the colour version just happened to be on top. When running with PinballX you had another (pinballx) window on that same screen and that messed with the z-order(?) of the two dmd windows. More luck than anything in the order being correct in just vpx before maybe. Glad it's sorted anyway!
