My Build:

DE10-NANO  - Product page

CBMSTUFF DE-10 Multi Expansion Board

USB Hub w/DC Splitter - Switch - USB Bracket

128MB SDRAM (sufficient for all current cores) - Yes that's MB

128 GB microSD - The SanDisk Ultra Plus line seems to be the go to standard, if there is a such a thing.  Network attached storage and other similar methods are options too.  I'm actually contemplating returning this and just running the cores on the included 8GB card included with the DE10-NANO.

Mister Protective Cover & Decal Pack

The nice thing about this little guy is that you can pick and choose what you want and don't.

There are other options to the USB Hub if you have original controllers, but the polling has been increased on the latest generation of USB hubs and is now more in line with BliSTer from a latency perspective, or so I've read.  As long as this holds true, then I pick the versatility of USB over original controllers that I would be faced with having to source anyway.

Components for this project are constantly in and out of stock, due in large part that much of it is assembled by community hobbyist, turned small business owners    By the time I purchased my DE10-NANO it was no longer in from Amazon and now doesn't appear to be available from any seller on there.  Luckily, Digi-Key has plenty of them currently, and they package a whole hell of a lot better.

Here's a nice recent overview of the project that includes some MAME split screen comparison's.

I finally had time to get things assembled.

My intial impressions are:

1:  I'm not a fan of the 3M thermal transfer tape, probably will have to find an paste that has enough adhesive qualities to hold in place.

2: The CBMstuff multi-expansion board fan is LOUD
