pinfan88
Hi, I am migrating my cab to a new PC and have downloaded the latest vpinballX and PinballX (4.75) The volume buttons cause PinballX to immediately quit. I tried remapping the buttons on the iPac but whatever the volume buttons are set to be causes the same behaviour. I googled for the issue and it was apparently fixed a while ago. Perhaps it has regressed? PC is not on the network at the moment so can’t easily upload log files, I am hoping the problem is easy to reproduce.. Thanks for any help and for such a great product
Draco1962
I moved your thread from the GameEx>General subforum to PinballX>General subforum. Please be aware as this site supports several products to ensure prompt attention. As you akready noted, we will need you to attach (no copy & paste) copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files in reply to this thread with the log.txt file generated from when the reported error occurred. We will need these before moving forward with attempting to help you diagnose your issue. Some with non-networked PCs move these files via thumb drive. dielated
I am having the same issue after installing the most recent 32bit version last night (was trying to get Teensy Strip Controller working through PinballX and thought 64bit version was causing me issues - after installing the newest 32bit version that is the only change in functionality. I had the 64bit version working smoothly before that (downloaded in July)

Reporting an error without these two files to start only delays a possible resolution!

I opened PinballX, used my volume key to force the quit, and attached files right away PinballX.ini log.txt
Mike_da_Spike
Message in the log : Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. But also some code messages. PinballX.EndpointVolume.IAudioEndpointVolume.GetMasterVolumeLevelScalar(Single& pfLevel) at PinballX.FrmMain.GetMasterVolume() at PinballX.FrmMain.a0() at PinballX.FrmMain..ctor() maybe @Tom Speirs has an idea if this is hardware or an code issue
dielated
During my lunchhour I tried downloading the recent build from this past Tuesday, with the same results. I then dug up my original PBX installer file (that I have had working in 64bit since early August) and reinstalled over in 32bit, now the volume issues are gone. pinfan88
Thanks for uploading the files, dielated. I have copied over my old install (v4.32) which works fine.
Mike_da_Spike
In the download section, you can select an older version as well to download. If you know when it broke (between which release) Tom can check it and fix ot, so you have the benefit of the latest features
Tom Speirs
Was there another topic was the same issue? Because I thought I fixed this and released a new version? Am I losing the plot?
Tom Speirs
Are you sure you are running the latest version? Again, I thought I fixed this a couple of days a go.
Tom Speirs
Sorry, I can't duplicate this with 32 or 64 bit 4.75. Does it only happen at certain times?
