Hey guys, I'm new to this scene.

Whenever i try to install PinballX on my PC it keeps stopping at dotnet install part.

I'm running version 4.8 which i don't understand why it doesn't see this.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

You would help a very confused middle aged fellow

Welcome to the world of virtual pinball !

always willing to help other people. Never seen your issue before

Is it hanging or you get an error ?

Do you see any error in the eventlog ?

Thanks for your reply

When i click on the setup icon, it looks like its wanting to install dotnet 3.5, when i click continue, it just says this can't be done and then kicks me out as such.

I've just downloaded the newer version and going to try that once i get home from work.

As regards Eventlog, where would i find that.

I do apologise, at times i'm thicker than a submarine door!!!

Gotcha. Dotnet 4.8 doesn't have the framework of 3.5. Try to download it from the Microsoft website and install that version

Also try  PinballX Database manager as an alternative way for gamemanger

Finally got to the bottom of it.

Firstly ended up running in campatibility mode (Windows 7), then downloaded 3.5 which didn't work off the Microsoft site!!!, 3rd party site update 3.5 and hey presto all installed.

Now i can read the rest of the guide to set my table up.

Bedankt once again Mike

Did you remove compatability mode again, or just did the installation in compatability mode ?

Check Pinballx.exe that is it not running in compatability mode!

I split the responses to their own thread. Since this is a apparently a new setup and the original issue is resolved, it is best to keep each issue separate. Please submit a separate thread for each standalone issue with a copy of the pinballx.ini and log.txt files attached. Thanks!
