I pointed GameEx to my audio files folder and it only picked up my *.mp3 files. Does it support audio with the *.m4a extension?

I added the AAC codec for WMP and configured GameEx to use WMP instead of browsing a folder. Now it works.

This should be added to the gameex faq if it already isn't.

You can also try and change the extension to get it to work

Did you give it a whirl?? I just converted some and they work solid...

Remaing the extention can help. But you should experiment with some different encoders. i don't knowexactly what or how but some encoders encapsulate the correct data in cabinets that are not understood by wmp.

try encodng with nero. A free and very good encoder can be found at http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/.

There are also several versions of software which can convert these too...have you tried freeripper??
