I am using PinballX 3.2.0 and Future Pinball 1.9.1

I am new to PinballX and I am unaware of why I cannot just have a screenshot to look at in the program to pick a table from, so i decided to make some videos and see if that can be placed somehow for a preview of the tables. So now I have a video and I have no Idea where to put it so I can see the table preview in PinballX. So where do I place the video?

Also can I just add a snap path instead of the video to save  resources?

Thank you.

Hi Bob

Pinballx version 3.2 is pretty old. Version 4.33 is the latests version.

In the pinballx directory there is a media folder. In that folder, a subfolder with the system name is there.

In that folder you see folders like 'backglass images ' or 'backglass videos'

Here you can put your videos/images that would be displayed by pbx when selecting a table.

If you use Pinballx Database Manager (see download section), you can easily import videos and images per table

I hope this makes sense to you

Thank you for your reply. I got the screenshots to come up and now I am working on videos.

One more question, can I use mp4 files or am I limited to AVI? I would like to use mp4 because I have lots of codecs to choose from when I lower the file size compared to AVI.

Thank you again for your reply.

MP4 is fine :)

Have a look at the /-PinballX-/Media/Future Pinball/ section on the FTP for ready made media too.

Just found that out, thank you. 2 Red Dwarf fans in one day, I watched a guys video who has use the channel name of name Arthur J Rimmer.

One more question to save a new thread from being created. When I exit future pinball I seem to exit automatically out of PinballX as well and not going back to the frontend. Is there a setting I need to check or something?

you need to setup a key or button to exit an emulator. Doing this, should only close FP and not pinballX. PinballX gives for me a message : return or shutdown if I press the exit button in the frontend

OK, I got that fixed but now when I go back to the frontend, my wheel images lose their .png transparency. Its a minor thing and I am sure it will be fixed in another update or two.

I want to thank you guys for your help with this program, it turns out to be almost perfect for what I want to do.

Almost perfect ? If you need extra features, you can always request for new missing features

I am a perfectionist to an irritating degree, if you only knew how much time I put into doing videos and snaps over and over to get them perfect (as as close as possible usually), so almost perfect to me is a 9.7 out of 10, if that helps.

I'm more taking it easy. 7 out of 10 is fine too

I have to redo everything over and over to make sure each video or wheel image is just right, so taking it easy is a luxury I have a hard time with my perfectionism. I have scrapped many projects because I would take a year to do what some could do in a month. The thing about my perfectionism is that I am basically OK with Photoshop and not great with it, so getting something perfect or that I like is almost impossible already, but I try anyway and fail most of the time.

Again, you guys have been really helpful and I am glad I donated to you guys. I already had 2 keys for an old GameEx from back in about 2012 but they did not work with the latest version.

Thanks for the donation.  That will keep the servers and maintenance up and running.

I'm just helping people for fun (i dont get and dont want donation)

I'm really terrible with photo editing.

But I spend a lot of hours to code to database manager. First version took me (and Scutters) 2 1/2 months of constant programming (every free hour I spend on it)

If you want to share your wheels or other stuff, please put it on the gamex ftp !
