Hey Group I seem to be having a few unexplained issues that are racking my brain. I have reset my computer using windows 10 pro several times and still have the same issues. I have used both Terry Red's and Major Frenchy's installation guides (Both are Great Thank You) with the same issues. I have PinBall X installed, BAM, Direct Output, Future PinBall and Visual Pinball  installed and all my .dll files are unblocked.

Issues...

(1) My monitors are set up correctly according to windows 10 and they match PinBallX program but sometimes the Monitors just change the position order (they Swap playfield to Back glass) and I cant retain the settings in the config file to keep it consistent.

(2) Future PinBall will install fine tests great using the latest ZED even the first time in PinBall X  after using the new PinBallX database manager but then restart my table and nothing seems to work. screens are swapped future pinball wont load BAM will not start or its somewhere off my Playfield table or something.

(3) the VPX tables will play in PinballX sometimes and sometimes they will not.   Loads the table but no back glass or will not load the program.

Very Confused..

Hey WW

Welcome to PBX forum !
Just some questions back :

1) when are your monitors changing the positions ?
What I do. I've created with DC2.exe a 'profile' of my display to an XML file
When PBX starts it runs that program and set the display correct

When PBX ends,  I have an after script that change the screens again.
maybe that will helps

2) I don't use FP. Sorry not able to help you

3) Not sure if I understand it.
Did you install the LAV codecs (that's for displaying in PBX)
Not sure what is happing if you launch a table and not working.
Can you reproduce the issue and post the log.txt (as attachment and not .lnk files as you have mostly in your zip file)

My take;

1/ Needs more info on when monitors swap. Different between each boot?, during use (loose cable?), or is a screen going to sleep when unattended..

2/ FP parameters look wrong. You have;

Executable=Future Pinball.exe
Parameters=/open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exit /arcaderender/STAYINRAM

For BAM should be FP Loader. Try;

Executable=FPLoader.exe
Parameters=/open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exit /arcaderender /STAYINRAM

3/ VPX tables sometimes not loading, i'm assuming you mean when the table is launched rather than videos in the front end (?). As Mike suggests a log file after a failed launch attempt will help us. I don't use dof but i'd disable that as a launch before application to rule it out (and does it need /play in the command for DOFLinxMsg.exe?, i don't know). Also do the tables launch correctly from VPX (every time)?

Thank you so very much for your help.

It seems that My monitors swap not due to a cable but on start up. The PinballX settings are correct 90% of the time main display #1, back glass and DMD #2. The PinballX config file somehow won’t save of something is changing it. Sometimes the PinballX program will boot with An empty spot for monitor 1 and my preset #2 monitors are #1. The config files changes back to 0 and 1. Which makes my back glass #2 my play field and nothing is on my play field monitor. If I change my PinballX setup and the config it seems to work but will not retain the changes.

Are screens 1 and 2 actually monitors, or are they tv's?. If you're booting up and manually powering on a TV too late that could be an issue.

Are your monitors swapped during reboot or from cold start (power on)

My monitors are getting "confused" with reboot and the dc2.exe avoids it for me. But I try too limit the restarts and just do a shutdown and power on again
