SEGA Saturn & Dreamcast

Hi downloaded some roms/iso's for Saturn (keio_flying_squadron_2.rar - I converted it to iso by NERO) and Dreamcast (Megaman War of the Past.cdi), and BIOS files but nothing hapends (I mounted the images into Daemon)

what else do I need in order to make these emus work???

Okay now I use SSF V0.07 R10 currently for Saturn.

Under "Options" make sure you have it the "Saturn BIOS" section pointed to your BIOS image.

I dont think you need the "STV BIOS" but if you do great.

Next make sure your Virtual CD drive is selected from the drop down.

Past that its mainly elective stuff...just make sure you take it full screen with ALT+ENTER and then exit out of it....that way every time you start SSF its always launched in full screen othe wise it'll lanch in a window.

Now for the Dreamcast I use Chankast Alpha v0.25 here your problem is also likely to be the CD Rom setup is wrong...Under "Plugins" select "Configure".

Next you'll want to make sure you have the "CDRom Plugin" set to "CDRom Interface xxx"

Next under "Options" select "Configure Drive" then select the correct virtual drive and click "OK"

if that doesn't get you moving in the right direction let me know and I'll give you more settings to check.

Hi Nologic , i use SSF V0.07 R10 , with ALT-ENTER the games works but black screen.

With windows-mode no problem...

An idea for this problem ?

Did you delete your ini files in the folder...I guess that with R10 the two basically got merged into one file...I had issues to begin with also...but I deleted those two files and resetup every thing and in general every thing is peachy.

Also maybe try running it raw out side of GameEX and getting it to fullscreen that way with every thing displayed.

I'd start off with the ini deletion first off tho.

the problem was the BIOS

i was traying Megaman 8 but it was not working when I used the emu without BIOS (last beta 10 version) it was OK (for dreamscast)

and Saturn is OK

How well does Daytona work for chankast? Any graphical glitches? slow?

dreamcast should work. just read the faq file for chankast. get the darkmans input plugin

get isos that are compatible (some games dont work

make shure your virtual drive and such things is correctly configured.

sega saturn is like the 3do emulator =(crap) full of glithces and buggs and really complicated to get running

for games that arnt that fun.

well if we compare Daytona on MAME,Chankast,SSF it there is no doubt it runs best on SSF speed and glitch vice ...

afcouse then we can debate what system it is best (graphics/gameplay) on and that would be Dreamcast imho ....

no doubt you can run sega rally best as the original pc game. then you get the game without glitches

i just keep getting error messages and havent gotten any game to run at all. tryed 3 games. just come to the intro screen then it flipps.

i always get an error message all the time saying "drive status play error, fatal error" .

i dont think it works at all.

While we're on the subject of SSF and Sega Saturn:

Is there any way to NOT have to change the BIOS files when you want to play a different game? I keep getting the 'Disk is Unsupported' screen when I want to switch games because of the game regions.

It's a longshot question, but maybe someone has a solution.

Hi Firebrand X,

I dont use this emulator but I do have a modded Saturn (PAL). I had a load of US isos and I changed all the regions to PAL with this. It works instantly and without fault. This should save you having to change the region at all. So you can just set it to one BIOS and leave it.
