Great read.

For some reason I really loved Donkey Kong 3 and shoved loads of tokens/quarters into that box.  I think because it was a shooter.  I gravitated towards the shooters at the time.

I also remember when original Mario Bros. arrived.  That game, while relatively boring by today's standards, innovated gameplay at the time.

Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr got lots of my pocket change, but I sucked at both of them (more so at DK Jr).

I never saw any of those space invader variants, but they do look interesting!
