[RESOLVED] Games not showing

I'm a newbie to GameEx. Maybe after this post I'll get the hang of it.

I am using GameEx arcade edition, running MAME straight from the MAME system pack, with a huge dump of complete ROMs I got back when the version was 0.153

For some reason, many of the games are not showing. Example: Dungeon & Dragons Tower of Doom and Dungeons & Dragons Shadows of Mystara. Rom names: ddtod and ddsom. Both were played successfully on an older rig.

In GameEx, they do not appear in the game list at all...

Does your MAME version match the ROM set version? You'll need MAME 0.153 if indeed your ROMs came from that version.

Quite sure the MAME version is much newer. I'll try to switch to the exact version and update. Thank you.

It is, system pack contains 0.180, and with your 0.153 romset, there are sure to be multitudes of files that have been manipulated in that many releases.  If you cannot obtain a full 0.180 set, then I would compile a version of mame 0.153, or just run the binary as is if you don't care about compiling your own, and try dropping it in place of 0.180.

Don't forget to update.
