I have spent weeks working on getting the software to work correctly.

Here is the problem I can't get past (for now).

I'll do it anecdotally and you please tell me what log ini or whatever files needed to diagnose, if any.

I had this problem with GameEx Arcade and have now installed GameEx (today's version) and set up mame and updated the list.

I start and play Asteroids (asteroid.zip) with no problem for 5 minutes.

I exit that game and start Asteroids Deluxe (don't know the file) and play for 3 minutes.

I exit that game and try a random game, "The Ultimate Time Waster" It will not load. A small square icon shows up in the top left corner.

I exit that game and go back to Asteroids (asteroid.zip). NOW it will load the game and then exits back to the GameEx UI after 5 seconds.

I try that 3 times with the same result

I go back to Asteroids Deluxe... I sit and stare at the demo screen for 5 seconds without hitting any buttons or joystick and it exits back to the GameEx UI.

Please tell me what is going on. Windoze 7 Ultimate SP 1 2 gigs of ram 3ghz computer

I moved your thread to the GameEx General forum from the GameEx Evolution forum.

Please click on the GameEx How to ask for help link in my signature for instructions on how to locate the gameex.ini and log.txt files for both GameEx and GameEx Arcade. Please attach these files in your reply.

Also we will need to know what version of MAME your mame.exe and ROMS are.

Hey pixmanvegas :)

Are you using a separate MAME install for GameEx? IE is it different from the Evo install? The Evo install is very specific, where as the GX install is not. If you are using ONE MAME between them both, you will get conflicts, coz they will both try to overight the same files.

If running both ori GameEx AND Evo i would recommend keeping them entirely separate, including your entire MAME setup, that will include the MAME.exe, the roms, the .dats etc. Make two copies of everything MAME if you're running both GameEx AND GameEx Evo.
