I have spent weeks working on getting the software to work correctly. Here is the problem I can't get past (for now). I'll do it anecdotally and you please tell me what log ini or whatever files needed to diagnose, if any. I had this problem with GameEx Arcade and have now installed GameEx (today's version) and set up mame and updated the list. I start and play Asteroids (asteroid.zip) with no problem for 5 minutes. I exit that game and start Asteroids Deluxe (don't know the file) and play for 3 minutes. I exit that game and try a random game, "The Ultimate Time Waster" It will not load. A small square icon shows up in the top left corner. I exit that game and go back to Asteroids (asteroid.zip). NOW it will load the game and then exits back to the GameEx UI after 5 seconds. I try that 3 times with the same result I go back to Asteroids Deluxe... I sit and stare at the demo screen for 5 seconds without hitting any buttons or joystick and it exits back to the GameEx UI. Please tell me what is going on. Windoze 7 Ultimate SP 1 2 gigs of ram 3ghz computer

To be fair, I'm about ready to give up on GameEx... It crashes constantly, I can't get games that loaded yesterday to load today. Now the video theme background stopped working. I've got dozens of hours into getting this thing to work. Not happening. I can get one game to load, then others won't. simply exiting a game with escape exits the whole UI. It is making me crazy. I'm going to try with the other GameEx instead of Arcade, but I can't get this to work consistently.

Solved.... It is the music from the DIG DUG PLUGIN!!!!!!!! which I had enabled because I thought it was for the Dig Dug ROM. It's the dig dug music playing over and over again. Found it. I can't get the music I want to play, so I replaced the music in the Dig Dug plugin with the file I want to play. RESULT! Thank you for your replies and patience.

The problem is that launch.ogg is not the music that is looped. It is a chord/tone that plays once when you LAUNCH something. (I downloaded a player and played the file to confirm) I have set the Arcade Ambiance MP3 to No and the "music" still plays. it is a cheesy, old fashioned, electronic arcade music that is too loud and only about 10 seconds long and loops. My Arcade Ambiance MP3 is pointed to a C:\Program Data and there are no files there.

I would like to have different music in the background of the GameEx Arcade edition UI. How? I can't find the music file that is incessantly repeated in the media folder where the other .wav and .ogg files are.

Disabling Gameex online solved the issue. Gameex online Background had to be quit with task manager to start a second game. It would be nice to hear from the developer if and when I can use Gameex online again.

I installed GameEx Arcade edition today. I have only added about 100 roms to try to work out what works. It will load only one game. I can play that game OK but when I try to change games, none will load. Sometimes they will load to allow me to enter coins and start the game, then exit the game in a few seconds, as was the case with the several games attempted in the log. Only restarting the computer (Windows 7 Ultimate) will allow another Mame game to be loaded. Advice to fix requested. log.txt GameEx.ini
