tthurman
I set out to two things while on vacation, hit the arcade, and finally go to In and Out Burger (which I've been told not to miss) After a couple days of touring, combined with a good sunburn and lots of walking, I almost threw in the towel. I did however on the last day actually make it all a reality. One site I frequent is Arcade Heroes, which is where I discovered the Fremont Arcade. I didn't take a lot of pictures, mostly because I was busy trying to get some games in, but they had a decent selection, and everything looked brand new. This monster welcomed you just as you entered the door: AC/DC pinball was awesome, in fact I'm hoping this comes to VP sometime if it hasn't already. Metallica was a cool game as well: I mostly played Star Wars Battle Pod, and actually improved considerably from my Dave and Busters playing on it last year. It really is a fun game, but probably one that will be a long time coming to the emu world. I managed 13 on the leader board, but missed the screen shot. The Battle Pod they had wasn't the big fancy one I placed at Dave and Busters, but I'm not sure the regular screen I played at Fremont isn't actually a better experience than the half round one at D&B's. Unfortunately I needed to get back to the room, and failed to snap a shot of it. My wife overheard the owners taking about which machines to get, so it seems they are planning to grow it. If you are ever in the Fremont area of Vegas, be sure to stop in. and yes, in case your wondering......
hansolo77
Nice! I'll probably never get to visit Vegas with my budget, unless I get lucky and win Publisher's Clearing House lol.
tthurman
If you really want to, you could budget for it. From what I gather the Fremont area is the old part of Vegas, and probably the most economical place to stay. Also the gambling thing wasn't the draw for me, I think I perhaps blew $60 ~ 80......I just can't justify throwing money away like that. I'd rather spend it at the arcade! We did a lot of sight seeing, the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon, and for what we did, it made a perfect sort of launching point. Didn't get much sleep, but it certainly wasn't due to staying up all night in the casino's wasting my money
RIP-Felix
Sounds fun, I'll have to check it out if I ever do go. I was thinking it might be fun, with all the shows and parks. Like you, I'm not into the gaming...well, not the kind you have a chance of getting you're money back at anyway...you know what I mean.
