tthurman
The first rock concert I ever saw was AC/DC as a young teenage boy, a show I saw with my best friend who went on to become the biggest AC/DC fanatic I've ever known. After For Those About to Rock it seemed to me the band lost a bit of their edge, but they still managed to release good songs on their albums, albeit not the start to finish quality they had spoiled so many us with in previous years. Flick of the Switch seemed like a turning point in Johnson's sing style, and IMO he never recaptured that Back In Black or For Those About to Rock vocal style again. It will be interesting to see what Angus decides to do. As far as I'm concerned Axel Rose did an amazingly good job fronting the band. I've even caught Vicki downstairs rocking out to youtube videos of this past summers concerts with him, so there's little doubt the old material could still be toured on. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, but they sure have left us with some great memories.
Adultery
I'll believe it when I see it. Too often do bands 'hang it up' only to do a rediculously overpriced 'reunion' tour two years later. I'm with you that they lost something along the way, the last piece of AC/DC I enjoyed all the way through was Razors Edge, but I would have liked to see them live once in my lifetime. Maybe.
