Hi! i have a problem, hope you can help :)

i downloaded a custom mame  0.172 romset.

this romset has a lot of games that for some reason i can't yet understand, are working perfecty, but the doesn't show in "avaiable"list. if i try to audit, mame says me that i don't have the romset, but i can play them, the list "working" in mame seems to be accurate. is there a way in gameex to show the "working" list, instead of  the "avaiable" one?...or to have a list based on the romfiles that are present in the roms folder?

thanks

Please see the forum rules. You just broke them gloriously so I will edit your post.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "available" but there are various options under "MAME settings" that change the filters from working, verifyable and existing. If you change these you will need to update the list in GameEx again.

sorry for breaking the rules, i didn't mean it..:)

i try to explain better.

in mameui64 0.172 i have 10228 games listed as "working" but only 10088 games listed as "avaiable". gameex take its list from the list "avaiable", (or from the setup wizard i could choose to se all mame games). i would like, if possible, so see in game ex, what in mame i see as "working". am i able to explain better? :)

if i try to play the 150 (more or less) games that i have not listed as "avaiable" in mame, i can play it...it's as if mame couldn't see the romset but if i double click the game, it runs perfectly

We need to see your .ini and log in order to gain enough insight to have a shot at giving you decent support.  See my sig if you need help locating these files.

As Tom alluded to, this is likely filter options settings tripping you up.

In the GameEx setup wizard ensure you have

Allow imperfect games - Yes

Verify Roms - NO

Don't forget to update following these changes.

There are others, but these two, and especially the verify roms setting, should get you on track.

i found the problem. apparently the romset i was using was not good for the official version of mame 0.172, but it was designed around mame ash build. so now everything is ok. sorry :)
