When I try to play a visual pinball game, I get kicked back to GameEx. Here's the portion of my GameEx.ini relating to pinball. Does the 'workin path' mean where the piball exe is? My roms for vpinmame are installed too, and the games play fine in windows. vpauto.exe remains in my taskbar after exiting GameEx if that matters.

I tried the debug mode and I seen this in a command prompt window:

C:\Program Files\GameEx>C:

C:\Program Files\GameEx>CD "C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball"

ECHO is on.

[apppath]\vpauto.exe

..\vpinball -play -"Black Hole (Gottlieb) (1981) (Patatrox) (r0.14a).vpt"

ECHO is on.

C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball>PAUSE

Press any key to continue . . .

Thanks...I've been tryin all morning to get this to work ()

Here is my pinball config, check it against yours and see if you can make it work. Look at your "alsolaunch" line and your "command" line needs to have the exe in it. Also try show desktop to true and see if that helps.

Good luck

The only difference I saw in the 2 that may have been the problem was your "AlsoLaunch=[apppath]\vpauto.exe", and JT's had "AlsoLaunch=C:\Program Files\GameEx\vpauto.exe"

Yes, that has caused alot of people to get it wrong, I'll see if I can find it and fix it.

Hmm can't find the original config post in user submitted configs.

BTW AlsoLaunch=vpauto.exe should work fine also.

Actually I think the problem he had was the working path. He had it pointing to the visual pinball folder rather than his tables folder.

So I was right. :) ::SNICKER::

where would i find working Visual Pinball Roms can someone help

WorkingPath is where the executable for the emulator is located.

Normally the working path is where the emulator executable is located, not the case though with visual pinball. If you take a look at the original poster's settings you'll notice that visual pinball didn't work for him until the working path was changed to the tables folder.

I don't know why the original poster is having a problem setting WorkingPath to the executable's path, because my config does just that. See my post on this page
