  1. Yes, I did install shark007's codec pack last year some time.
  2. yes, games are all playing fine if I use a command prompt and play MAME. It seems to be happening only when it trys to play a preview video and there is no video file present. I confirmed this as every time I pointed to the game "600" gameex would crash. I looked in my video folder I use for game previews and there was no "600.mp4". I then copied a file, and renamed it 600.mp4, and the crashing stopped, until I scrolled to the next game that had no video file. By video preview file, I mean the video that plays on the left side of the screen when you point at a game in the list. It also is crashing every time I point at the game Gaining Ground rom name gground video name= gground.mp4. this video file is present and gameex still crashes, so now I'm even more stumped. I got all my video files from emu-movies MAME [Videos][MP4][480p][MAME .144][EM 20111208][WIP] . Thanks
  3. I see no errors in my log file. Gameex has worked great for a long time previous to this update. It is crashing after I point at Last Played, or after clicking on favorites and pointing at any game. I believe the last line of my log file is telling me what the problem is, but I'm not sure what I should delete. I can play games, and now after playing a game it is not crashing when pointing at "Last Played", but pointing at certain games in my Favorite list still is causing a crash. 09:15:07.9 4/29/2012: Testing Main Loop Once: Main Loop ran successfully 09:15:16.6 4/29/2012: Restoring Cached ICONS from File Thanks! log.txt
  4. Thanks!..glad it's not just me!!! I know Tom will address this in due course.
  5. Wow!, I knew I should have turned off 'auto-update'. Now, after updating to this version, I have to click 'OK' to a box with a font name, OVER 200 times before gameex starts!!! Any ideas?, this happening to others? I'm on win7 64 bit
  6. I averaged around 250KB/s download speed with a 50Mb/s connection, and no other download or uploads happening.
  7. ahhh..OK, then ignore my 'don't use a laptop as a server'
  8. I can understand starbuck's need as I have 8 internal drives no smaller than 1TB and 1 external 3TB. A server only needs 1 cpu and as many externals as you want to connect to it. A laptop would not be a good server as you are limited to the number of externals you can connect. Yes it could be wireless.
  9. You're looking for two files for each song. example: Song.mp3 and Song.cdg
  10. I went where you said...and seen nothing for me to change no choice for MAPPING OFF [ALT+F4] Page 3 is process wait page.... thanks for replying...should i post my config if it helps? I did see a PJ64 config file...but it showed %{F4} as exit key?? which sounds right from what I read
  11. ditto on the 'I'll Cook & clean' add-on .......................chirp chirp chirp
  12. I got Project64 1.6 working great. I used advanced emulator config to have %{F4} be used when wanting to exit this emulator as that's what it wants to see to exit, and not the Escape key. The problem is that the escape key just seems to pause the emulator, and not exit. I can hit 'alt F4' on my keyboard and the emulator exits fine back to GameEx. But I won't have a keyboard on my cabinet, and not sure how to re-map my Escape key from my controller to 'alt F4' for just this emulator. Thank you very much! Note: my GameEx worked great for years..but a crashed C drive lost all my config data, so now I seem to be a newbie at setting all this back up!...now I have a clone C drive to prevent this from happening in the future
  13. Fixed! What I did was re-install Gameex, but chose the path of C:/GameEx, instead of the usual Program Files(X86). I'm using Windows 7 and maybe it was a permissions issue. As an added bonus, I no longer have to click a button at program start-up allowing the program 'access'. Thanks for all your help!!
  14. No, still just a black screen. Hitting 'escape' brings me to my desktop. Waiting a few minutes, it comes back to gameex.
  15. Well, I read the link you gave above...did not find a 4B step at all.{edit I had a problem adding 'pause' due to windows 7 file restricions--will try re-installing to C drive and not program files folder and will reply]]..my runitgame.bat showed that it pointed to my correct directory for my roms. I just find it strange I can run any game using MAMEUI64, with default settings, but can't with GAMEEX AFTER updating from a 9.x version. Can anyone give me some choices for my command line in gameex? I've tried everything I know, and am lost. Thanks soo much!
  16. Everything worked fine before updating to the latest Gameex. Now when I select a MAME game to play I get the controls screen, then just a black screen. If I hit the escape key I then get thrown back to windows. I read the FAQ and tried to use the commandline "-nowindow -hwstretch -ddraw" still nothing but a black screen. I can play all of my mame games using MameUI64.exe with no problems. Here's my log file if it helps: 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: GameEx: Version 11.72: Starting Log 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Operating System Platform: Win32NT 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Operating System Name: Windows 7 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Operating System Version: 6.1.7600 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Aero running 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Initializing Vista/Windows 7 volume control 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Checking for versions of .net Framework installed 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: .net Framework 2.0 Installed 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: .net Framework 3.0 Installed 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: .net Framework 3.5 Installed 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz, 4095MB 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: 2.4Ghz - 4 Cores or CPU's 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Running Randomize() 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Loading PlugIns 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Checking for applications to Launch On Startup 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Running Misc startup tasks 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Setting Menu types 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Opening Configuration File 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Getting Configuration Values 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Using Theme: Default - Deep Purple 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Checking for alternate Image Directory for Theme: Default - Deep Purple 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Launching HideOS.exe 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Initialising Video/MNG DLL's 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: GameEx will check for media insertion (may affect performance) 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Hiding Taskbar 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Is Media Center running? 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Checking/Creating LCD Registry values 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Check Media Center Exit/Start Mode 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Media Center Mode 2 11:19:51.7 5/15/2011: Video previews on. 17. What an awesome project!! becoming a lifetime member now!! Thanks Tom too!!
  18. My favorite for years is Bulk Rename Utility. Now with 64 bit version too.
  19. "A second feature I would like to see and it may exist and I just can't find how to do it. When I play the jukebox and or movie if I have video ambience on it plays in the background. I like it playing when I am playing games but not when I'm listening to music. " This would be a great feature....I like the ambience, but I end up always having it off due to the above issue. Thanks!
  20. Hi, I have a registered version of gameex I'm trying to use on windows 7. I have a 64 bit OS. All seems to be working good..but I can't get the registered version to work with the key I got from spesoft. Do I need a new key Tom? Thanks, JamminJ

    MAME issue!

Putting a copy of your gameex log in your post here can help find out what problem you're having. The log is in the gameex installation directory.
  22. I figured it out and what was setup wrong was my 'Working Path' entry. I thought I wanted the location of vpinball.exe, but what it needed was the location of my tables. I also changed my commandline. Here's my working config file: [Emulator_3] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=Visual Pinball TITLETEXT=Pinball StartPageLogo=pinball ROMFilter=*.vpt RomPath=F:\Program Files (x86)\Pinball\Tables SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= ControlPanelPath= InstructionsPath= WorkingPath=F:\Program Files (x86)\Pinball\Tables MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=False ShowDesktop=True Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch=[APPPATH]\VPAUTO.EXE Command=..\VPINBALL -PLAY -"[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile=Visual Pinball V6 ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= DontShowInfo= PlaySelectionMusic= SelectionMusicFolder= PCGame= DATABASE=[Pinball] Visual Pinball UseDbName= GamesIn7Zips=True PlayInScreenSaver=False ShowMostPlayed=True RandomMostPlayed=True CDCheck= CDCheckFile= [GENERAL] DumbyValue= I also updated to a newer version of Visual Pinball I found Here: http://irpinball.ztnet.com/files.htm Thanks for the help!
  23. Well, If I click on vpinball.exe, then open an already unzipped game...it plays perfectly within visual pinball. Here are my settings within GameEx: Vpinball1.zip VPinball2.zip VPinball3.zip I don't know how to run this from commandline, so hopefully these screenshots help. I get no errors when clicking on VPinball.exe and loading an unzipped table
