Pretty informative write up of Valve's new baby over at ars. Funny, I thought this thing would have a hugemongous launch, but instead it really seems to be somewhat of a subdued one. Perhaps I've just not been paying attention, or there will be much fanfare as the official day gets closer!

I like it, wouldn't mind having one, but I probably wouldn't buy it. If I ever got one, I'd probably side-load Kodi onto it and use it as a Media Center that can play games.

I wasn't thinking along those lines, but that's a good point!

One of these isn't on my radar at all, and even if it was, or ends up being for that matter, it would be many software updates down the road or perhaps 2nd gen.

My bet is this will be a major contender soon, not like that's any breaking news though.
