Fully Exit Out Of Gameex

Ive been having an issue lately where when i excape out ot gameex to work on the opposite side of the computer, the frontend remains in taskmanager. therefore when i start it up again it wont until i end task then click on gameex again. plz help.

Looks like 8/8.1, which is the same as my setup. I'm not experiencing this, are you running the most recent version of GameEx?

Have you ran any utilities on your rig to check for system problems, sfc or similar? Just some ideas, but my immediate thought would be that it most likely isn't being caused by GameEx. You could have good reason to believe otherwise, and if so please provide your .ini and a log immediately following experiencing the issue.

Gameex the only thing in the task manager nothing else. also after this update I'm experiencing the video problem from the post that we posted a while ago. Instead this time when the video ends it returns to the video selection menu instead of playing randomly like it should..... I've been thinking....... I think I'm just going to redo my entire computer removing windows 8 and putting Windows XP on. you think that would help? I have all my files and everything. So it would be fairly quick. I hope dolphin, ssf, null DC, and pspppp etc. emulators still wrk

There's a setting in Setup Wizard that keeps GameEx running in the background after it closes. See if it's enabled.

I completely forgot about that , and Adultery has already helped me with something else that was exactly that. That's probably what it is.

This video issue?

As far as XP, that's of course completely personal preference, but I wouldn't do it in hopes of it being a fix for something.

I think Adultery had the right answer. This is a new GameEx Online feature to keep you connected. It can be disabled in the Setup Wizard.

However, if its not allowing yo to relaunch GameEx then that is certainly a bug. So please let me know.

Yes if it is running in the task manager, game ex does not start up again and if u use setup wizard while GEX is running in task manager, an unhandled exception has occurred error, has to close

@adultery and @tthurman, should I make a new topic about the video issue again or post it in the resolved old post? Because yes, it's the same video playback issue. It began again after this new update. When the next video is supposed to start it returns to the vid selection menu.. The music that is supposed to resume like it always did does not. Exiting out of the emulator, the music resumes, exiting out of the videos playing, the music does not resume...I'll hear the music when I restart the frontend tho.....strange...

Could you please post the usual info and also look at the details table in task manager to get the actual exe. if its for GameEx Online it will be gameex_background.exe. Are you using gameex online? Also post the background_log.txt.

PS: Based on what you said though this sounds like a video codec issue. I think recent versions of shark are more buggy than usual.

It depends. What exactly is the process name (exe) in the details tab.

I believe the ones on the PinballX site are stable.

The "Details" tab. It differs. Either gameex.exe or gameex_background.exe. Need to know.

gameex.exe is running in processes and gameex background.exe is in details after exiting Gameex.

The logged in transparent word that shows when u login to GEX hasn't been coming in either. I put new movies in and the posters or video thumbnail don't even show for the new ones. I checked in the setup wizard and its set to login like usual. I think this is why my gamertag isn't refreshing also.

I disabled it earlier and it fixed that issue. Then I just set it back just in case u update and that option is disabled
