DazzleHP
So i bought this:Continental SetIt arrives tomorrow!I never had one growing up, but my dad had a MASSIVE set, with 10+ cars. Including original Mini coopers, a Lotus F1 and many others. My brother and i got to play on it once every 6-12 months for 5-10 mins, depending on how soon it took us to crash Then it was game over for another 6 months.Thing is we both LOVED it and wanted to play all the time but weren't allowed... Now, in my 30's i can get my own - so i did Hope to have a lot of fun with it - i asked my brother: "If i bought a Scalextric, wanna race?" he said: "OMFG YEAH!"How could i not?!
tthurman
Man we raced these non-stop when I was a kid growing up in Louisville.Tyco was the brand I had, but there where others later down the road that weren't stuck in slots, so you could change lanes too. This track is 100% bad-ass! (video ain't bad either )

Adultery
We chained about 9 of those sets together when I was younger. Good times, at least until one jumped the track and smashed on the hardwood floor!
Krakerman
My Dad bought me one of those as well and it filled the entire basement up as he also tied it in to my railroad set as well. Was really cool! I remember they sold those in the 80's that went up the walls and also had a cop and robbers set where you were a cop car chasing the bad guys and could ram the car off the track and go flip around and go the opposite direction. Forget who made that one.I remember hooking up my verti-bird (helicopter on a wire) and chasing my brothers car as he drove by also hahahaha. Good times.

Krakerman
Wow! I forgot all about Flying Aces as I had that as well. Those planes were made of foam like substance if I recall. I had the exact same one however my brother had this one. The styrofoam coast guard boat.
DazzleHP
Set it up yesterday - had so much fun! Both cars i felt for sure were wrecked at least 10 times each but they both survived i'm glad to say The cupboard door though has a couple fresh dents Neither of us remember them going that fast, but it has been 20 years and those passed a certain age know memory can get warped We couldn't even pull the trigger 100% on the little straight i got with the set - at 75% they both ended up in the cupboard door NEED MO STRAIGHTS!This track is 100% bad-ass! (video ain't bad either ) That's just fekkin insane LOL I would happily live in the bathroom only to have a track like that!And.. Seriously WTH! Tell me my eyes are fine coz i can't even see them things moving! WTF
hansolo77
Yeah we had 2 different sets. One was small cars that used metal plates on the tracks that also climbed walls and had a loop on the track. Then we had a larger car version where they were metal braids that made contact to the tracks but the track was a really short figure eight that ran on 4 D-Size batteries. The small car one was AC powered. Also the small cars actually burned out their metal plates long before we were done playing, so we had to buy new ones. Don't know what happened to my sets. I miss those days.
