[RESOLVED] Fusion and Sega CD, doesn't mount cd.

Hi,

I've been reading through the forums trying to solve this issue for quite sometime.

I'm using the fusion emulator and have got it running for Genesis, 32x.

However the Sega CD has me stumped, I can run it from the command line from a cmd window and my command line entry in GameEx is Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]".

I can see the games and choose them under GameEx, however when I go to play them it just goes to the default cd player window.

The files are in .cue,.bin format.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

My Sega CD Fusion ini is as follows...

Scratch that, that thread was going elsewhere.

Hopefully one of the sega experts will chime in. :)

Thanks, I went through the whole thread, followed the suggested links and tried all the suggestions but no joy.

I'm not sure why I'm having issues, I've installed DTLite and can run it outside GameEx without issue. I noticed when I run "Run Last Game" that the full path isn't present.. ie: "C:\Roms\Sega CD\Roms\Adventures Of Batman & Robin (USA)\Adventures Of Batman & Robin (USA).cue"

just "Adventures Of Batman & Robin (USA).cue".

So the command looks like Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen "Adventures Of Batman & Robin (USA).cue" instead of having the full path.

However my set up is consistent with my other fusion entries that work.

My paths for all Fusion/Sega (Genesis,32x,Sega CD) Roms are ..

C:\Roms\Sega 32X\Roms

C:\Roms\Sega Genesis\Roms

C:\Roms\Sega CD\Roms

So after checking, it seems the Genesis and 32x have stopped working correctly. They sit at the "Produced under license ..." screen and just stays there.

Get genesis or master system working correctly then go to 32x and cd make sure bios are correct and launch. You don't need daemon tools if you have right formats and make sure the filter in fusion matches your formats. 32x will launch must games but cd is tricky because certain formats want you to insert cd and others will launch right away I would have to go through my setup and verify as I'm still doing that but I had this issue as well

My first suggestion is to make sure the games run outside of GameEx. Fusion may not be properly configured. Try to load the games directly inside the emulator first. After that, try loading GameEx and give it a run. If it's still failing, try editing the .bat file in "Run Last Game" from the Windows Start Menu -> GameEx -> Utilities. Add the word "pause" (without quotes) and try running that. That will give you the command prompt line GameEx is attempting to launch. If it doesn't look right, 9 times out of 10 you can figure it out pretty easily where you goofed up and can fix it.

Some notes about Fusion. Configuring of the BIOS is absolutely necessary to be correct. You not only need the console BIOS, but also the CD-ROM BIOS. Also bear in mind that JAP games require the JAP BIOS... so if you're having trouble booting games, check that. Also, Fusion is capable of "in-emulator" mounting. You don't need to run an ISO, etc through something like Daemon tools. This usually flubs up most people. Check to make sure GameEx isn't configured to attempt mounting.

If you have any further difficulties after following these steps, feel free to post back. If you have resolved your issue, please edit the topic thread to include [RESOLVED] so we know you've been taken care of. Good luck!

EDIT: Quick little side note, the rom filter should be *.iso;*.cue there shouldn't be an extra ; at the end of cue. This is mostly only required for LISTING the roms anyway. If I were you, I'd test out (outside of GameEx) running both ISO and CUE games. I believe ISO's won't work. Has to do with the way CD's are manufactured. They work for DVD's, but I believe SegaCD MUST BE in bin/cue format. My configuration is with *.cue only.

Disabling the Virtual Drive Loader using plugin manager solved the issue, I had enabled it in an earlier attempt before I changed the command line from Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen "[-virtualdrive-]" to Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]".

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!
