Just a little note about Piracy and GameEx

Hi all,

Now I am not proclaiming to be some kind of saint here, but please report to me any piracy or cracking or attempts of to me.

I am a 1 person independent publisher trying to do something new, creative and cool, and despite over 3000 downloads of GameEx a month for the last year, only a very tiny fraction of users donate and register. I've said it before but I am not making a killing off GameEx and it does not pay the bills. I give a large percentage of my life to the project mainly because I love it, and I also invest not only time but money into the project.

I'm not begging you to register here, but if your not happy with the free version I give away at cost to me, then please don't steal from me, and use another front end.

So far I've been lucky, but that can't go onto forever.

I agree, Tom. You work very hard and it shows. I hope to donate soon. The $19 dollar donation is in USD correct? I want to make sure there are no currency confusions.

You're right Tom! For the moment I'm about to test GameEx extensively whether it fits my needs and whishes, but be sure when I decide to put GameEx as my frontend of choice for my Cabinet (which is under heavy construction for the moment) I certainly will donate a few bucks to honour the laborious work of a private one man show that has created something really cool.

Where else can you get a great piece of software with CONTINUOIS free upgrades and be able to talk and suggest things to the DEVELOPER who actually listens and helps out everyday?? C'mon folks..pony up the minute amount to help keep this project alive and well! There is nothing out there, even remotley close, to being all things for all people like GAMEEX is! Thanks again Tom. I really appreciate your effort and energy for keeping the good times rolling!

No worries. Haven't installed GameEX yet but i keep downloading with each upgrade. I'm just trying to get emulators & hardware working before i install it. GameEX Arcade Cabinet building is going very slowly ( i'm not very computer literate ). Still, i've seen what it do ( divx video ) and would gladly pay $60 if i seen it in a pc store, so i've just donated the same. Please don't stop developing this software, there's nothing i've seen to touch it.

I guess I hadn't thought about it until just now, but I use GameEx every day. The nag screen doesn't bother me, but I hadn't thought about the other aspect - I love GameEx and I use it. It does exactly what I want / expect it to. A great way to show my appreciation for your hard work and excellent support to this community would be to donate, so I'm gonna go and do that right now. I know my measly $20 won't set the world on fire, but I hope it helps you keep progressing on an already near-perfect front end.

I hope everyone who reads this thread follows suit and makes a donation... If for no other reason then to show Tom what a great job he's doing with GameEx.

Amen brother! If there is any questions as to how good this product is, roam around the Net and check out other Front Ends..look at their creation dates, and when they were UPDATED last. Tom, you are doing one hellava job for all of us. There simply is no other product out there that does so much for so little!
