Gameex suddenly starting up to blank black screen??

At 800 x 600, you may want to consider just trying a different theme, but if it was previously working that shouldn't be an issue.

Has the PC been running GameEx with no problem prior to an update?

If so, and you just noticed this after an update you may want to back up your settings and try just reinstalling the latest full version. Should just reinstall over your current setup without effecting your settings (but it's always a good idea to have a current up saved, just in case ;) ).

i tried a different them as well, and no luck.. There has been absolutely no problem prior. As i said it worked fine last time, i took a break for a while to do other things. And now out of nowhere i cant see gameex. Again, i can see screensavers which is wierd? But gameex its just a black screen, and also non responsive to buttons (meaning up or down does not seem to move the list based on no sound effect)

ill try a clean install

The screensaver working is a head scratcher for sure, and one that got me to doing a bit more searching.

Check this post by thurmansevoltuion , he has a knack for work arounds for odd issues such this, so might want to try some of the suggested settings changes. I'm not sure if it will help in your particular situation or not, but it seemed worthy of a post just in case. Oddly enough, I've experienced the issue he is describing a couple times, always after an extended break away from my rig while it was running, and going into attract.

Based on that thread, neither of us are experiencing issues with system resources, we should be good to go. I haven't seen the problem I had since upgrading my 9800GT to a 750 Ti.

The one I purchased actually has a six pin power connector, and honestly I've not really put it through the paces from a PC gaming perspective. I've been running Folding at Home on it 24/7 since I installed it, and it stays cool as a cucumber under continuous full load with both core 15 and 17 work units. I can't hear it either, something I most certainly couldn't say about my Gigabyte - Zalman edition 9800GT.

Cranks out between 35 and 70K PPD in F@H too ;)

FWIW the 9800GT would net about 5K PPD, so the 750 Ti runs circles around it, and does so without breaking a sweat :D
