I've been away for awhile and can't remember how I had things set up in the past.

1) Should I be using MAME or MAMEUI32? Or even the 64bit version if it's faster. I have a 64bit Intel.

2) During setup under MAME Settings, should I point all the paths to something like C:\Assets\MAME\Cabinets, Marquee, etc. The defaults seem to have MAME, MAME32, and DEMO paths for some reason, which seems confusing.

If I'm using Emu Movies for downloads, is there a recommended path setup?

3) Under Emulator setup it asks for paths too. I assume I should make these the same as the paths in MAME settings?

Thank you!

You can use anything you like, personally I run 64 bit vanilla MAME. In my case I simply renamed MAME32 to MAME in the config paths within setup.

I suggest you follow the basic directory tree structure that already exists, and modify to your names needs. For instance I have all emulators in an "emulators" folder on the root directory of C. Then in the MAME config screens just browse to emulators/mame and pick the appropriate folder to what you are configuring to point at. If you have MAME Extra's, your going to need to move those contents into the MAME folder as well, and then browse to the specific folders in the configuration screen to get your marquee's, control panel, etc., to display correctly withing GameEX.

For Emumovies, simply set your username and pass in that configuration screen, and it will pull down what you need, and put it where you need it. Just give it time to pull all the snaps down first.

The emulator setup is for other emu's and is not required for MAME.

Here's my config screen.

Since GameEx supports such a wide range of emu's and apps, for the most basic MAME config with Emumovies support, there are really only a select number of pages you need to be concerned with.

Welcome back, and happy gaming! :D
