Tom Speirs
How about lets see some real DMD content from the community now? I can implement random videos and more if only there were some to use.

tthurman
Is there a go to DMD for pinball?I've seen some people implementing a 7" USB display for this purpose.
Zeiram
Ack! I saw the 1.81 announcement on my cab, but didn't download. Now when I'm getting ready for bed I see the release notes! Tomorrow...
Tom Speirs
I can tell you Adultery it is an expensive hobby. It cost me a small fortune to get one myself and since I couldn't fit it myself I had to pay a premium. I just hope folks appreciate it! zeenon
Looks great!!!!!! Now what format do the images and videos need to be in? I know open6l released a ton of DMD videos but those are for a third monitor.Z
Zeiram
That is sweet! Thanks Tom!!!!
Tom Speirs
Yeah, existing stuff does not look too good but WILL work. Supported images and videos are the same (as per your doc) with the addition of AVI.

sigma415
As a start I have transformed most of the DMD videos from Gregzkij in the FTP folder "Pipshag" and transformed them for use with Real DMD (in my case PinDMD2 with Vishay) You can download them in the FTP folder "/Other Uploads/sigma415/RealDMD_Videos". Tom Speirs
Thanks guys.To clarify what we need, they should be 128x32 as solid pixels in white/greyscale. ie. NOT with spaces between the pixels emulating a DMD.PinballX/XDMD converts the images/videos on the fly to display on a real DMD. Ideally they should be uncompressed AVIs as compression artifacts will probably be visible on such a small display.Look at Videos\No Real DMD.avi in the installer for an example.

Tom Speirs
Yeah, I just tested the videos, they actually work very well. Thanks. I didn't think they would as they have spaces between the pixels but they look great!
Tom Speirs
Here is a little update that makes videos start playing quicker and it does a better job of keeping running at 60fps.PinballX.zip
rockyrocket
Guess I will be looking on at you PinDMD V2 owners with jealousy as I decided to upgrade to a V2 but russ no longer produces them himself. This means I would need to order from the states and I do not want to do that, especially with russ only living 5 miles away.Think I am going to just stop being an early adopter . zeenon
I'm seeing a weird bug in 1.82 (and the version above). If I start PBX manually the DMD videos work all the time, if I set the option in PBX Start with Windows to 'yes' and reboot, I get no DMD videos.Z
Zeiram
Sigma - Those video files look gorgeous!Starting to make some custom DMD files for my cab. Fun!I have noticed an issue when I cycle through tables fairly quickly. Sometimes a real DMD video will get "stuck" on repeat until I hit another table with a DMD video. The default Pinball X video doesn't take over when I switch tables once a video gets stuck. This never happens when Pinball X is cycling randomly. I'm using Tom's latest exe on top of a 1.82 install.
Tom Speirs
Both the issues should be fixed in the attached. Please let me know.PinballX.zip
