Hi All

Hopefully an easy one...

Since upgrading to Gameex 13.13, when I start a MAME game I have to manually move the joystick to get past the general black and white text rom details that MAME shows. In my old registered version it used to automatically bypass these. It also means the screensaver never gets past these screens.

Is this because I'm yet to register the new version of Gameex? I'm planning on doing that as soon as I can afford it.

Hi,

Hopefully someone else will step in to help you resolve the issue but that is not and never has been a registered feature. I would never make a feature like that registered only.

Cheers.

Tom.

When reporting a possible GameEx bug or error, please ensure you submit a copy of your log.txt and gameex.ini file so we may quickly assist you. Please refer to this link for additional information.

Also, it might be good to know more about what version of MAME you are running.

Did you update your MAME build? Sounds to me like you may have had a complied version before.

Also, you may want check that:

Setup Wizard > MAME Settings > Advance MAME Settings (scroll down) > Bypass Disclaimer/Warnings is set to Yes.

And as mentioned you will need a self-compiled version of mame for it to work, here is a great guide for beginners, or a nice reminder if you've not done it for a while.

I'm pretty sure you used to be able to skip this without a compiled version back in the day with a command-line switch. I went to a compiled version after this changed. You really need to consider compiling your own... It only takes a little effort using Headkaze's MAME Compiler. It does everything for you. ;)

If you were indeed using an old version of MAME, you may have to re-enable Direct Input also since the MAME team went to RAW instead.
