NES Games not playing in Game Ex

Using RockNES emulator and the games do not seem to play. They work fine in Rock but when I launch in Game Ex it just goes to a black screen and then goes back to the game menu. I am trying Maniac Mansion and I see the game info, art, etc. But when I hit play it does the black screen...wait 5 seconds back to game info. I have checked the setting in Emulator and custom menu and everything seems fine. I can play SNES and MAME fine.

Before I ask to see your Emulator config, GameEx log, or runitgame.bat ( ), let me ask this - are you tied to RockNES as your NES emulator of choice? It's not one I'm familiar with other than having heard the name before. The more common consensus suggests that Nestopia, FCEUX, and occasionally Jnes are much more popular NES emulators. We can certainly attempt to troubleshoot your RockNES issues if you wish, but I'd seriously consider giving a one of those others a try for the sake of comparison. Just a thought ...

If you're pretty sure you'd rather just get this RockNES issue sussed, please post the files suggested above. Thanks man!

No I can give one of those a Try. I had DLed it before I ran across Game Ex. When I was configuring Emulators for GE last night I saw it in the list and thought "SCORE!" but alas. I'll try one of the others starting with the first one you mentioned and see how it goes. If I have issues with either of those I will get back in touch. Thanks again

Fantastic! Let us know how you're getting along with this Rich. I'm a big fan of Nestopia but I can verify that FCEUX is also a very solid emulator (I've never tried Jnes, but I know it has something of a following). Good luck man!
