Welcome back,

Any chance of releasing the theme so those of us who want to make game screens can start to help. I've made a couple but can't try them out to ensure they work without being able to run the theme. Once some of us start making them you can start a forum here for their submittal. Would help to make a lot of thmes in a short period.

The wife and I drove down to Fry's Electronics yesterday and she bought me my (early) Christmas present!

An Alienware M18xR2 Gaming Laptop can't wait to put GameEx on that bad boy..... This thing is big ... it's like I just transformed my Desktop PC into a portable gaming rig! Dang she said I can't play with it til X-mas thou.....

UPDATE!

I installed a 120gb SSD drive and put the OS (win7x64) on that drive free up the 750gb for games and still have room for one more internal HD (Wow!) this thing is awesome....

Gonna add 8 more gigs to it this weekend for a total of 16gb. Then back into the box it goes

Ok ... done upgrading my Alienware will let you all know how GameEx looks and runs on it after Christmas!

Now I can get back to working on the theme ..... having too much fun messing with my new toy and got off the subject.

Now that I am back at working on the theme again here is a new updated pic of the revised Atari 2600 games selections screens will look like.

Taking a little break from the Atari 2600 tonight and focusing on the Visual and Future Pinball table backgrounds. I've completed the framework for them and should have a few tables to show you sometime this weekend.

Ok here is a peek at the Visual Pinball table background for this theme. This snap for some reason doesn't look so crisp but trust me it looks much better than this. At least you can see what it will look like...

I like this! Not sure if the issue that is causing the lack of crispness may be causing the contrast to be thrown, but on the background, the reds are close enough to the frame and other reds in the foreground to kind of wash them out a little. Maybe upping the contrast a tad and dropping the brightness on the background image fo r the curtains will balance the overall contrast between the background/foreground and give it a little more pop.

No it's just the way Fraps took the snap. The actual background looks nice for some reason fraps took a bad snapshot.

Glad you like it going to start on a Future Pinball one tonight will be a bit different ... I don't want them both to look alike.

If you run GameEx windowed, Greenshot does a great job of image capture, probably better than Fraps for getting a still image. Very similar to Snag-It, but free!

Creating a few more MAME titles tonight.

The really fun thing about this theme is creating all these backgrounds for MAME.

Well had to re-do all these backgrounds that I started as it was a bit off-center and was bugging me so I am fixing them. In the process I updated the framework as well. Sorry Starbuck I know you had been working on creating some but I needed to make a few tweaks to the menu locations for better visuals of the background as well as the video preview window.

Note on the updated Millipede background. I added a homebrew bezel to the video preview window.

Not aproblem, tried to e-mail you some I've done for you try and see if they work, but for some reason they wouldn't go. I'll wait until you upload the theme before I work on anymore. I do have a suggestion on console screens. Add a snap of the boxart to each screen so you can see the box art work along with the video.

I did do that if you look at the recent 2600 screens that I posted a few days back.. For now I am concentrating mainly on MAME and also Daphne since I have to re-do those again as well. I'm on Thanksgiving vacation next week so I will have alot of free time to work on this.

That Centipede screen is dope Krak! It's really cool to see how these screens have continued to evolve (as well as your skill in crafting them). Nice work man.
