Windows "login in" box still shows with instant sheller

Firstly.....great app.

Ok, my problem.........

I normally shell my front end using regedit. Since I've upgraded to XP 64 bit, I'm having huge problems with the login in" screen showing very briefly on startup. (I'm running a 15Khz arcade screen).

Instant sheller works great, but I can't for the life of me sort out this Login in box showing. I've unticked "change the way users logon/off"

Plus ticked enable auto login

I can't even maually shell my system (regedit).........so am wondering if it's a 64 bit issue?

Please please help......it's driving me nuts!!

Likely you are correct. You may want to read this from MIcrosoft regarding 32-bit vs 64-bit registry in XP 64-bit.

Quote "The registry in Windows XP, 64-Bit Edition is divided into 32-bit and 64-bit keys. Many of the 32-bit keys have the same names as their 64-bit counterparts, and vice versa. The default, 64-bit version of Registry Editor that comes with Windows XP, 64-Bit Edition displays only the 64-bit keys... ...To open the 32-bit version of Registry Editor, click Start, click Run, type %systemroot%\syswow64\regedit, and click OK."

Did you attempt your registry entries via the 32-bit option provided by MS when using XP 64-bit? Regedit (if that is how you are editing the registry) will only show the 64-bit side of the registry. You have to follow the instructions in the link to access the 32-bit side of the registry.

I was only using instant sheller......regedit edit was proving a real headache with 64 bit.

Is this a known problem with 64 bit?

Can it be fixed within instant sheller?

I am not aware of any problems with XP, Vista, or Windows 7 64-bit. I only mentioned the regedit options since you mentioned it in your original post. I will defer to some of the other users at this point as my experience with XP was pretty much limited to 32-bit and I do not shell my system.
