[resolved] Same theme not working on new pc.

Ok. New problem. I copied my GameEx folder to my new laptop and installed the latest version. The new laptop is a slightly upgraded version of my last one - a walmart hp (I know, I'm so ashamed...) I tried to run the theme Confluence Port and got a crash due to an object with the incorrect resolution. The resolution is set the same as the other pc on which the theme works perfectly. The graphics card is a slightly better version, but not by much. I tried recopying the Confluence Port theme folder and even redownloaded it. Still the same crash. I really like this theme due to the fact that I can use small windows for avi snap preview and title/cabinet shots and use the snap or boss snap for the large background (something about the large avi snap in the backgroundlog.txt just throws me off my lunch...). I will attach the error log. Any help will be appreciated. Btw, does anyone know if this same view is possible in other themes through the change view button? I haven't found one yet. Thanks!

Alright. I guess I should tinker more before posting. I copied over an old GameEx install file. Downloaded the new version and the new theme versions worked correctly. Hope my wasted space helps someone.

Glad you were able to resolve the error you encountered!

Keep in mind that the new views created by Tom for GameEx came after the majority of the available themes were published. That being said, some have gone back through and created the additional background files required for the "ribbon" views however the majority are have not and likely will not unless the author or another user create and post to the forums accordingly.

As time permits, I hope to add some updates to a few of my more recent and popular themes.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't dug into the update history enough yet to know how things have progressed. On the theme front, I would like to see a theme with a Discs of Tron snap shot for the background. I took a good screen of me playing it once and it makes a great one. It has that sense of depth but with boundaries you dont get with lanscape shots. And its DARK. I like dark. Maybe I will get some time to tinker with theme creating and learn how to really make GameEx crash a few times. :/

LOL! Well, when you are ready to crash it, let us know! There are quite a few good GameEx skinners in the forums!
