This did not fix the MAME issue, after updating list I still only have 10,415 games.

I am going to delete gamelist.txt and yearlist.txt, then update list again and see what I get

UPDATE:after deleting both of those files and updating the list again,I still only get 10,415 games

It is kind of silly that Tom has to keep upping the limit to include games that do not and will not in the foreseeable future run.but it has to be done because when they actually add more VIDEO GAMES,GameEX wont see them

Thanks for the update Tom!

Thanks, Tom! The Y coordinate issue on the Menu Bar seems to be resolved... any chance you might be working on the X coordrinate issue for the next update?

10,415 may be the right amount of games if you exclude the mechanical stuff? I am deliberately filtering them out and I don't see that changing until any of them are useful.

Gotcha ;) and yes 10,415 is the total amount of games, minus all mechanical games

Tom,im just wondering what will happen when more actual games are added, will GameEx see them?

IM not quite sure what's going on with the gameex update on my system, this has never happened before.

The update starts, goes to the downloading portion, hangs for about a minute, then restarts gameex and wants me to update.

Nothing is ever downloaded.

Internet is working since netflix works fine. Would the log file have anything that might have a clue?

Thanks,

Troy

UPDATE:

None of my home computers are able to resolve gammeex.com. gameex.info and every other site on the internet is ok. Now THIS is a new one.

So you can't even browse to it? Blacklisted?

IP Addresses did change recently as we moved servers. That is probably why but all DNS servers should be updated by now. Can you browse gameex.com in a web browser? Who is your host/dns resolver?

Thanks for the reply. :)

Nope, cant get to gameex.com at all on any computers. Restarted my router and everything.

The DNS servers are through my ISP - I never look at them. I bet itll resolve itself in a few days by itself then.

Thanks. :)

If its not resolving now I am not sure it will suddenly start working as it should do by now. Who is your ISP? Do you have the IPs in your host file or similar? It moved over two weeks ago.

Often you can fix the problem yourself by "forcing" a new DNS cache to be built on your local machines. The following setps are ones I have to use often through my work and at home - give them a try:

In IE (or Firefox) - clear your temporary Internet files

IE:

- Click on Tools>Internet Options

- Click Delete Files button in the middle of General tab under Browser History (IE 7 or higher - under Browsing History the Delete button),

- Click Delete Temporary Internet Files then OK (IE 7 or higher - Check Temporary Internet Files and click Delete button at bottom)

- Once finished, click OK to close Internet Options, then close all open IE sessions

Firefox:

- Click Options>Advanced>Network Tab

- Click Clear Now button under Offline Storage

- Once finished, click OK to close Options, close all open Firefox sessions

Next - open a Command Prompt (under Start>Run in XP or earlier, otherwise, in Vista or Win 7, hit Windows Key+R on your keyboard if you have the default Admin Account or type CMD in the Search Programs or Files line, right-click on the CMD.exe icon and click Run with Administrator Rights)

- On the Command Line, type ipconfig /flushdns

- Hit Enter (should get response Successfully flushed the DNS resolver cache)

Let me know if this resolved on your PC. If so, try these steps on each one impacted.

Uhm... it could be worth trying to check the hosts file... although most unlikely (I don't see why or how all GameEx related DNS should have been included). The hosts file is one of those things that can prevent a pc to connect with a remote host....

1. Enable "Show hidden and system files"

2. Open your hosts file with notepad. You'll find it in "C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\"

3. Check if you find something like 127.0.0.1 www.gameex.com or related dns...

Just in case you find something of interest, delete the unwanted lines, save and reboot.

Let us know!
