Good night Tom ...

I would like to know if it is possible for you to add in the configuration part of the executable "ThemeEditor" the possibility of enabling and disabling functions.
for example. There are several tings that we can use to configure a system:
Title
Gives you
Team
List
SelectLine1
SelectLine2
Image =
Image2 =
Description =
Scroller =
Weather =
Menu =
ListNum =

There is currently no option to enable / disable these tools. In my case, sometimes I don't want to use "Image2 =", but I have to make a workaround to make everything the way I want it.

Another thing that I ask to be able to be customized is the "Menu" option.

In it we have the possibility to filter the games by different parameters, however I just wanted a single one, which would be "By category", and leave the rest disabled so that it would cause less visual pollution in the configuration I wanted to make.

If you could do that. Create within the "ThemeEditor" the possibility to enable the options that exist there I would be very grateful. Nowadays, I need to make workaround to make everything the way I want, but it is not as good as it would be if I had the chance to decide if something should be there or not.

GameEx is the best frontend for me, having it on 3 cabinets. It's so close to being perfect. There is just a couple of small things that I would wish for:

- option to remove search function

- option to remove genre menu

- boot directly into chosen games list

- screensaver/attract features from gameex full so I can set it to video only

- hide little window bar on game start in the left bottom corner

I understand that GameEx Arcade is supposed to be simple but I don't think that my requests add a lot of complexity and could all be part of the feature options in setup.

I'll would gladly donate for the consideration of my requests.

Thank you for this great frontend

Olli

GameEx Online MAME Hi Scores enhancement request:

Increase the number of high scores displayed from 3 to 10 for each game. An anology for those seeing the lower scores (Top 10) gives more of a the feeling of a ladder to climb than a step stool on a high shelf beyond reach.

Draco,

Ill be happy to implement these, but there are just not enough users right now to do it. You do not even seem to be on there?

I haven't been playing as much lately nor the skills to hit some of those very high scores when I do! I will also have to re-enable my GameEx online login.

When I saw the hi scores I thought about the RSS feeds that I have used in various themes for system pages and thought seeing the MAME hi scores on the scroll instead of the feed from MAMEDev would look better.

FEATURE REQUEST:  Game Hi Score feed displayed through LEDBlinky. Not sure what this would take or if possible, but to have the feed available during game play would entail displaying the Game Name followed by top 10 scores and names.

Perhaps you would be better asking Arzoo too?

Will do. This could possibly be handled entirely through LEDBlinky pointing to the Pixelcade media files to alternate loading logos and scores if there is a Hi file available.

Or just read data/mamehiscores.ini

Found it. Provided a copy of my file to Arzoo and the path. Much easier than trying to program LEDBlinky to interpret the contents of the Hi files when it can be pointed to the ROM name and parse out the Rank|Score|Name fields for the data to scroll. You are awesome!

When configuring AAE as an alternative to MAME, when MAME launches one of these games, BattleZone for example, it does not process the Launch Before or Launch After scripts as configured in the Advanced Emulator Settings.  I use these scripts to change the primary display so AAE can use my secondary monitor in an arcade cabinet.

If I select the same game through the GameEx menu for Emulators, it processes the scripts fine and works as intended.  I would like either the option to ad the scripts to the AAE integration or have it automatically follow the settings from the Advanced Emulator Settings section.

Thanks

It uses the same library as PinballX so should simply just work in the next update,

Looking forward to some logo play! I think it will look sweet with the AE themes  menu items and games menus where logo files are currently supported.

FEATURE REQUEST:  As suggested by another forum member, here are some additions/alterations I'd love to see in the GameEx Arcade Edition:

I'd like to have the ability to create my own custom menus within GameEx.  I'm big on organization and filtering, and would love the ability to create a specific menu for Street Fighter games, or Mortal Kombat or Tekken.  I'd also like to be able to create a menu for Neo-Geo Fighting Games, one for Pro Wrestling games.  As well, I'd like to be able to create menus for various game publishers i.e. Capcom, Konami, Taito, Data East, etc.

Is this a possibility to be included in a future Arcade Edition update?

Background: I have a dedicated arcade cabinet running GameEx Arcade.  It is disconnected from the internet because I don't want various distractions like pop-up windows and things like software updates to happen and mess things up.  I just want to power on and run games with it largely transparent that it is running windows.  I have about 200 hand-selected MAME games.

Here's my request:

I would like to be able to have some option of hiding the adult games from the game list without having to connect to the internet and download a new version of the game list.  (I think that is required now, please correct me if I'm wrong.)  Most of the time I want them there, but occasionally young kids from conservative parents will be using the machine and I'd like to have some software setting where it will just hide those titles from the existing list.

Thanks for your consideration!

John

This is a feature that has been enabled within the Integrated MAME Support for a number of years. Open Setup Wizard and go to MAME Settings > Advanced MAME Settings.  Click the dropdown in No Adult Games and select No Porn Please.

FEATURE REQUEST: Add RSS feed to GameEx AE and enable RSS feed to both AE and GameEx to display High Score data when a game is highlighted in the wheel , scroll, or mouseover. This could utilize the same output that is sent to the GameEx MAME High Score Leaderboard.

RSS Feed for AE would likely be a Global Display or Enabled Feature since there is no direct theme editing support. For legacy GameEx, if enabled as a Global setting, would it override the built-in theme support or could it inject the high scores into whatever feed is being displayed by theme default?
