Just found this out after the latest June update that Valve Steam pushed out. There are now 2 versions: Steam Beta Update and Steam Families Beta. When you launch Steam it is in default mode which is No Beta Chosen. The biggest problem is that if you are using generic controllers and sticks..aka arcade controllers they will not show up as being mapped with specific device id's you intailly had assigned them. If you switch the interface to one of the versions I mentioned above Steam Will close and restart to do a new install of that version...'then get this', once it restarts then your generic controllers and devices will show up and will work. The main point is GameEX will no longer work with Steam since it has to sign you in each time you launch a new game, so when GameEX signs you in it will still work normally by launching the game, but your generic controllers will not be listed for you to use them. Here some pics if that helps. There is no way to lock the version you want to use permanently, and you have to manually remap everything...it's crazy

publisher Russian publisher is looking for perspective games
Euphoria Games posted a topic in Social Club
Hello everyone! If your game is in the development stage or it is preparing for the release, but you have no experience in release or you want to get a good starting audience to reach the top, we can be useful to each other. We are a small young studio from Russia. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=6751356956094091876) We release games for Android, iOS, Steam. We have 3 projects in the release so far, the total number of downloads is 15 million +, good estimates, DAU 275 thousand +, we are quite active on social networks (YouTube 27,6k subscribers, Facebook 21k followers, Instagram 12,4k), there are fans, etc. We want to try ourselves as a publisher. This is more interesting for us as an experience, so the conditions will be favorable. How we can be useful to you: 1) Evaluate your project, give advice on the development, improvement of the project and share what we know ourselves. 2) Funding. 3) Help with publishing in stores (AppStore, Google Play, Steam). 4) Give an initial audience and good organic traffic (we also have experience in purchasing users), cross-marketing works well in our projects, so you can count on getting players from our games. 5) Help with setting up app monetization, connect ad mediation and set up waterfalls to get good eCPM and ad revenue. Help with setting up the store in the app. We are ready to cooperate on the terms of maximum transparency (you will get access to all statistics, etc.) and mutual benefit. We will get experience in cooperation from you, a percentage of income, a good new project for our audience. There is only one requirement for the project - we must like it and correspond to the quality that we keep. The priority genres are puzzles and horrors, but we will consider all the options. The main thing is that we need to like the project itself then we will agree on the rest. Have a nice day and good games to everyone! Our contact: [email protected]-

I've 3 directories (steam library) on 3 differents hard drives with steam games I don't know why but some games are not listed in the steam module. Those games not showing up seems to be games that have been moved from one library to another ( within steam ) The steam base install folder is f:\program files\steam Here's a part of my log.txt refering to steam : 22:40:50.75 25/03/2018: Checking if Steam enabled 22:40:50.75 25/03/2018: Steam is installed correctly 22:40:50.75 25/03/2018: Found Steam Base Install Folder: f:/program files/steam 22:40:50.76 25/03/2018: Found Steam Base Install Folder: C:\\SteamLibrary 22:40:50.76 25/03/2018: Found Steam Base Install Folder: H:\\SteamLibrary 22:40:50.76 25/03/2018: Found Steam Game: Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat. When I try to run a game on Steam through PinballX I get a warning error saying "Allow game launch?" which is hidden behind other windows. It does this because PinballX attempts to launch a Steam file with specific launch options parameters in order to load a specific table. Is there any way to disable this and always allow the game to launch? I've tried what I've found online including changing compatibility properties to have it always run as an Admin, reinstalling the game, reinstalling Steam, and more. Nothing has worked though. Any idea what to do?

Like free stuff? Check out Space Codex for free for your Steam library! Who wants to spend their hard earned 99c anyhow? Grab it at IndieGala.

Am I correct to assume that the descriptions for any game is found in the corresponding database chosen for that games emulator? If so should I also assume that the database is either made or edited with a program like SQLight? Because if that is the case I dont believe I will be able to make one myself. So if all this is true is there a Steam database out there anywhere? I would just like to have the game info show in GameEx when highlighting the game because unlike most consoles and arcade game Steam indie and small developer games are unknown to most people.

I am trying yo run steam as an emulator instead of using GameEx's built in steam player so that I have more control over the display in my theme. I am getting surprisingly further than I thought I could with just about everything working with the theme showing what I want my problem is that when launching the game the focus returns to GameEx with the game running in the background. If I exit GamEx I can then access the game. I am thinking I need to do some advanced config file but not sure what it should look like. Anyone out there have an idea what I should do?

I have a few Steam games that will not work through GameEx or through Steam big picture but run fine if I execute the exe directly from the folder. I tried setting it up as a PC game but it will not run from a shortcut either. Is there a way to automate it so when I select the game gameex will shut down and then launch game and when I quit the game gameex starts up again so gameex is not running in background when games playing? Thank You

Greetings and salutations. When I launch a Steam game I have one of two things happen 1 minute after launch. The game either loses focus and I'm returned back to GameEx (Axiom Verge) or GameEx itself crashes (Transformers Devastation, Sonic All Star Racing, Ultra Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter x Tekken). When GameEx crashes it doesn't take the focus away from the game, but I obviously can't go back to GameEx once I'm finished with the game. I ran a few different games for testing purposes. The logs from said games are attached with their shortened names before "log.txt." I can also test other games if you'd like. Thank you all in advance. I have started a PinballX Steam Community Group for those that are interested in joining. It is my hope that we can try to schedule some competitions for Pinball FX2, TPA, Zaccaria Pinball and more between members of our community. Of course, the PinballX Steam Community will be for much more than competitions. This is open to all members of the PinballX and GameEx forum community with Steam accounts. Any competitions will require an active Steam Account and games running via Steam for high score validation for game competitions. I hope to see you there!

Hi all, I'm just wondering if GameEx is updating with new Steam games for any of you, or if maybe something changed within the past month or two with the way that Steam connects to GameEx? The desktop that I've been using both Steam and GameEx on for years is no longer keeping tabs on my Steam inventory. I've purchased and installed a few new games, and after a month or two they're still not showing up in my GameEx library like before. In a few tests I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few smaller games, but they've completely disappeared from my GameEx library. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both Steam and GameEx, but the Steam Library in GameEx came up blank with no solution but restoring a backup of my saved config/files. I've also installed Steam and GameEx on a completely virgin (GameEx-less) Win10 PC to test if maybe the issue is an existing config file misconfiguration, but no such luck. The Steam area of GameEx on this PC is completely empty even with some smaller games like 'Duke Nukem 3D' and 'Quake' installed via Steam, and Steam enabled via the GameEx Wizard. Additionally, on my existing installation I've checked the following 'usual suspects' with no luck: - My GameEx rig has a fully owned license that I also applied to the test/clean PC (licensed version required to utilize Steam I believe?) - I've run GameEx in Admin mode - I Checked that all games work fine outside of GameEx - My Steam account is fully Active - I'm running the Steam platform in the background while using GameEx - I've entered my login info into the Steam option inside of the GameEx Wizard program - I've deleted the EMU_1002.dbcache.ini, steamdata.ini, and gameex_[PC] Valve Steam.map. This causes the GameEx Steam library to empty out and never find installed games. - I ran the Steam Local File Integrity Verifier on some of the missing games, and they all check out - In my log file there's several "Invalid or filtered path: " Mentions Attached are the zipped gameex.ini and log.txt files for my game-rig PC installation. It's odd that GameEx isn't reading Steam in a completely virgin GameEx installation, as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated, and thanks to Tom and the contributors for an excellent gaming front end. game-rig-files.zip

So I spent the better part of tonight making an application as a go-between for GameEX and Steam. The idea is that it can be run standalone and get all the required information/media for your game and then it can be run with command line parameters to use the steam protocol (steam://run/appid) to launch games (even non-steam games that you added to Steam). When the game closes, my app does as well meaning GameEX immediately grabs focus again. It also downloads Movies, Title Images and Screenshots for snaps. This means even if you already have Steam setup in GameEX (or any frontend, for that matter), you could use it to get this media. Anyway I'm still working on it but I'm excited enough and tired enough to share this video and hope that maybe someone out there will want to use it soon! BTW, it's rough right now but I think it shows the software off pretty well. 1:25 to see how to use it to setup a game 3:18 to see how it grabs/previews media 5:00 to see it run from command line 5:54 to see how to set it up in GameEX 8:00 to see it working in GameEX (goes into game at 8:20, goes back to GameEX at 8:40)

I have a few titles setup on the Steam Games section with titles like: Save 40% on The Binding of Isaac: RebirthSave 50% on Hotline Miami 2: Wrong NumberSave 50% on Party HardI found the "gameex_[PC] Valve Steam.map" file with the titles, so I think I can change them manually. But, I wasn't sure if anybody else experienced this issue. It sounds like an Steam API call is hitting the wrong "game name" value. This is on GameEx 14.41, BTW.

Hi All, I have been using GameEx for a while and love it! I have 20 or so systems configured and working. I am however having difficulty getting steam to work correctly. I have a custom menu for steam and when i select it it reads " - No Games Found -" Sometimes before going into the menu it will say 25 items under steam and other times it will be empty. Regardless when entering the steam menu it always lists no games. I have Steam enabled, automatic login/logout enabled, and have verified my account information inside of the setup wizard. Can someone point me in the right direction Thanks!

How to install the “Steam Emulator” on Game Ex Front-End Purposes of this tutorial: So, I just recently bought the Game Ex software because I wanted to have my Steam games integrated with my Game Ex front-end. I thoroughly enjoy this software. It does so much right; it does more than I expected it to do with the free version. I did not mind paying the $45 bucks to get it registered. My only gripe about it was after I paid the $45 buck I was able to get all of my Steam game integrated with Game Ex without a hitch, well, almost. So, what’s wrong? When I downloaded Game Ex, then register it and got all my Steam games as they should be. My issue is that they did not all have video snaps, and they all were not the video snaps that I would have chosen for my games list. Also some of the titles did not match the way that I wanted them to. How did you fix it? Setup Microsoft Windows as an emulator, then I just changed the name to Steam Point the emulator path to where your Steam.exe is. Finish the emulator setup as you would normally. Create a Rom folder. Go to your directory of where you games are installed for Steam (By Default: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Common\Call of Duty Advance Warfare (for example) Open one your first game file (for example Call of Duty Advance Warfare) search for .exe. In this example you will see one for multiplayer and one for the campaign. The one for multiplayer is labeled with an MP on the end. (Just FYI) Once you find the .exe of the game that you want then create a shortcut, and send it to the ROM folder for your Steam ROMs. Repeat this process for all of your games. Launch your Game Ex front-end. Remap the Microsoft Logo to a Steam one (this step is purely cosmetic). What about the video snaps? What I did was use a program called Clip Grab – www.clipgrab.org then I just edited the video to my liking. I used Movie Maker from Microsoft. You can also use the video software within Game Ex. Conclusion I hope that I have helped some of you with your frustration. Please let me know if this helped you or you thought this was pointless. Or if you just have any questions, I will try and get with you as soon as I am able to do so. Again thanks for your time. Special Thanks Tom Speirs, and the rest of the Game Ex staff I have tried, and failed several times to get Hyperspin to do anything but fail. This software was awesome to say the least. Well done!!

Hey, I'm having some trouble. GameEx is only showing part of my Steam game collection. GameEx shows that I have 64 games, but I know I have way more than that (108 to be exact). Yes, I'm registered. Is there any way to tell if GameEx is in "registered mode"? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello all! I'm new to the forum here, yet have been working on my GameEx setup for some time now. I must say it is quite the awesome FE! I have the registered version and was having some troubles with Steam games. For pretty much any Steam game (like Geometry Wars:RE), what happens is this: I click the game on the GameEx Steam page The screen goes dark The Steam login page shows up (I have auto-logon set to on) The offline prompt comes up (I'm running my setup offline since I don't have a WLAN card for it) I hit the play offline button The game boots up for a split second The game quits and steam says "Waiting for <game name> to shut down" Then I'm back at the GameEx screen. I'm running Steam in big picture mode also (just to make it a bit more cab-friendly if I ever need to navigate the menus, so I'm not sure if that's a problem there. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated! Thanks for reading! Sebastian1314

The other day I registered my copy of GameEX, I got the e-mail and followed the instructions. Now, all of the locked options are available, but I still get the nag screen asking my to donate every time I boot. Also, I can't figure out how to get Steam to show up in the frontend. I have logged in in the options, and my games are stored in the standard area, but steam just isn't in the emulated games section. Any help would be great, Thank you in advance log.txt GameEx.ini
