Well I'm a bit of a fanatic about controls....hence why I got involved in a controls application in the past: Before Nologic After Nologic Actually it ended up looking a LOT better than that...but dont have any pic's handy right now.

*grabs pillow and blanket and prepares for the dog house* Well there seems to be a lock in documentation for one...far as I'm aware only one gamepad can be mapped. Its also not very intuitive to setup. Macro's can't be setup...or at least I'm not aware that they can. No turbo-fire No toggle function There is a large margin of difference between what GameEx offers in this area compared to Xpadder. However currently Xpadder is near useless...but hopefully in time it'll get to where its usable with frontends like GameEx. Really I'd love to see features like whats in Xpadder become native functions of GameEx. Well maybe check out this small tutorial I put together to help a few guys get Xpadder setup for use with nullDC.
  3. I have a profile setup for Xpadder to work with stock nullDC binds using a Logitech Dual Action gamepad...you can find it here...might help some get up to speed more quickly.
  4. Nebula and Zinc are two different beats. There are a few games that play in Nebula that don't in Mame...other wise its just netplay, and the fun of running something different from everyone else.
  5. Nuts....thats me screwing around off and on for the past few hours trying to update my Nebula rom set to 2.25b...near golden...but still hitting some walls...seems none of the dats out for it are 100% correct. Tho on the up side I did get my FB Alpha set updated to 0.2.96.68
  6. Oh man...yeah just got to hate it when you get out classed. I'll go stand in the corner now, with my dunce hat on.

Well I have yet to learn C#...dispite heavy prodding by HK to do so...so sorry.
  8. Not that I'm aware of...actually a complete DAT has yet to surface.

Yeah it certainly makes things more readable. Zinc...dear god yeah that would have been a breeze in hind sight with Xpadder...the next build will certainly be focused around using Xpadder.
  10. Additionally for those ether scared of altering their registry or leery of merging REG files there is another alternative and thats to use Tweak UI. Once installed simply start the application Click Desktop on the left side TreeView Then uncheck every option in the Selection Box on the right Click the OK button and now your all done.
  11. Well first off I didn't have anything other than the Recycle Bin on the desktop to begin with...default stock Desktop. If you have any other Shell icon's My Computer, My Documents,... those can be removed via the Desktop Display properties dialog: Right Click the Desktop Select Properties from the context menu Click Desktop tab Click Customize Desktop... Deselect all Desktop Icons Click below that branch on Any non Shell icon's move else where like say the My Documents folder... So really at this point all that should be left is the Recycle Bin this can be solved by a simple registry edit: Press WinKey+R Type regedit into the edit box of the Run dialog Press OK Click the left side (TreeView) of the Registry Editor on HKEY_CURRENT_USER to expand it Click below that branch on SOFTWARE to expand it Click below that branch on Microsoft to expand it Click below that branch on Windows to expand it Click below that branch on CurrentVersion to expand it Click below that branch on Explorer to expand it Click below that branch on HideDesktopIcons to expand it Click below that branch on NewStartPanel to expand it or ClassicStartMenu if using the Clasic Start Menu Right Click on the list view item {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} Select Modify from the context menu Set the value in the edit box for Value data: to 1 Click the OK button Close the Registry Editor When back at the Desktop if the Recycle Bin is still there then: Left Click once on the Desktop Then press the F5 Keyboard key Or you could just simply merge the attached REG file into your registry.
  12. No...basically depends if you are having to load a large file...ie mounting a CD image in Daemon Tools prior to launching the actual Emu. as for the taskbar...there are several apps\ways. For doing it on the cheap I suggest Transparent TaskBar if you truly want to make it completely transparent...other wise you may wish to check out Glass2k (also free) which will make it nearly transparent but will add a few extra's that you won't find in Transparent TaskBar. Basically fire up Transparent TaskBar set the taskbar to transparent right click on the slider select Exit...now should you find your self needing the taskbar to be visable simply hit your WinKey and the Start Menu will open up...browse to the application and start it again...and simply adjust your settings and exit it yet again.
  13. Heh okay just checking...I get worried some times that I'm loosing it.
  14. Thats good to hear, I'll have to look into beating on it. ...did my prior post change?...not that it really matters...just wondering if I'm going nuts or not.
  15. Well I guess that all depends on how messy ones desktop is, and how fast ones system is. On my main stay system the desktop is a mess, several scripts, icons, sticky notes, widgets, docks, IM's,....needless to say a bunch of stuff I don't want to see when I'm in a gaming session. Now the HTPC...thats a different story...desktop is clean, no wallpaper (set to black color), taskbar is set to be completely transparent...so showing the desktop on it is a non issue.
  16. Hehe I think I was telling people to use those var's prior...whoops! Yeah. I thought it was already in there too, until I needed it and found it wasnt
  17. That depends greatly on which render you use....as it has OpenGL, D3D, and Glide render's available to it...D3D Hide the desktop, OpenGL show the desktop, Glide...no clue as I don't have a Voodoo card installed on this system...actually on any of my systems...but I do have a Voodoo2 8mb card & a Voodoo 3000 16mb card laying around....maybe I'll work on a listing...as well as find out if Glide requires the desktop to be shown or not.

    Xpadder

Xpadder is an fairly new app for mapping Gamepads to Keyboards...the next revision is slated to have the ability to send key mapping profiles via the Command Line, which will make it an excellent replacement for the aged JoyToKey application. I personally look forward to the CLI release, as I see it as a boon to help ease new users into the world of emulation...not to mention the butt load of features is brings to the table over prior products. Anyways swing over to the site and give the current build a try...and if you like it give some encouragement to the developer and let him know you're excited to see future development that would aid in emulation. Hell maybe Tom can find some way of making use of Xpadder with GameEx seamless.
  19. hmm I think while it may get more people up and running...I think more would comment on the fact that GameEx would then look less polished...the only real true solution to the issue is to some how get GameEx and OpenGL rendering Emu's to behave better together. My thoughts tho...take them as you will.
  20. You really should get some thing to treat that. I might step up to WinXP64...Vista is still a turn off for me.
  21. We need a great deal more information. Which Emu? (Doh! I'm blind didn't notice the full thread title) Whats your command line look like? What format are your roms in? ... My Command line for this Emu is: zsnesw.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" Do you have the Emu set to launch in full screen mode?
  22. bkenobi- Well the Jaguar works in part...a few games and most not very well. gerble1000 - For having such a post count...it seems odd that you wouldn't be aware of most of the Emu's for those...that do work with GameEx. Actually to date...I haven't found one Emu that refuses to work with GameEx...some implementations may not be as clean as others but all can be done. Really GameEx, AutoIt, Daemon Tools, JoyToKey, Common RunTimes (.NET, JAVA, Visual Basic, Delphi), are all you really need...outside of the Emu & Roms. Playable level is mostly hardware dependant...I have a fairly powerful system, which allows me to run most Emu's with out a hitch...tho there are still some conditions where I run into snags (MAME+CHDs), so depending on your own hardware...you may be required to upgrade. Hehe getting the PS1 to run on a i386 at good speed will never happen no matter how well the Emu is coded.
  23. The next version coming out is suppose to have a CLI so at that point a wrapper\loader really wouldn't be required. I'd write something up...but I'm heading back out of town tomorrow night and I have other pressing matters to deal with.
  24. Your welcome and thanks for the update. Question in your wrapper do you force a sorting of the game list table...this was required in my wrapper in order to make sure that the games where in the correct order to select. Hehe tho mine also failed for certain people...so lord only knows.
