    Windows 8.1

I'll go ahead with it then when I get home. The reason why I asked is because I had recently installed a couple of Windows updates that broke some programs that launch with windows like Xpadder, It basically removed the compatibility of those programs with Windows 8.
  12. Yeah always the way, We get 1 idea, then make an announcement then have another idea and make another announcement and so on.....and so on.

  14. My favorite game is Cotton - Fantastic Night Dreams, Only one ive ever played. I'm not a Castlevania fan to be honest, slightly overrated in my opinion
  15. To be honest though, the same year we had a Playstation so the Snes didnt get much use after that.
  16. Yep definitely, Daddy was right on this occassion, It was actually a duplicated Xmas present and sat in my dads attic for 15 years along with other sealed games. It still had the receipt with it aswell, it was purchased from Electronics Boutique 19th December 1995.
  17. £39.99 in 1995, Ive owned it since then So I owned the game pretty much for near enough 20 years.
  18. Good to see this one out in the open Mike!
  19. I cant really comment on the GameEx MAME integration as I have never used it, but in my opinion it would be best to setup Zinc as a seperate emulator to get the most out of the emulator and the games. I'm abit OCD when it comes to these sort of emulators. But for sure you will need the numbered roms, If you feel up for a challenge with getting Zinc to work then go for it, Adultery has a point in saying that its a PITA but its well worth it when its setup.
  20. Also heres a quick example I made of a possible Neo Geo entry
  21. An easier method to breakdown your set wuld be to use your existing MAME set and setup a new emulator using a MAP file. For example, Setup a new emulator in GameEx called Capcom CPS, Point all the directories to your MAME directories but on the advanced emulator setup choose a different MAP file, this way it will be using your MAME set but only showing CPS roms.
  22. Im no MAME guru but I think Zinc roms are there yes, Official Zinc roms use the weird numbering method, instead of a rom name they are a number. Neo Geo MVS roms are there aswell, so are CPS,CPS2,CPS3, Nintendo VS, Nintendo Arcade Systems, Playchoice-10,AAE.Model 2 and there are others too.
  23. I setup Zinc as a seperate emulator Use Zinc 1.1 emulator and run games through the Zenith frontend for Zinc. Get Zenith here http://www.sovmax.narod.ru/zenith/index-en.html First off, get ZiNc and all the plugins from here. Now set a folder for ZiNc somewhere and extract ZiNc. Then move all your roms to the rom folder it created. Extract all the plugins (winterblast etc.) to the ZiNc folder as well. Now I hope you have some time set aside for this next part, its a doosy. Extract ZeNith to the ZiNc folder and launch it. Assuming you did everything correctly, it should launch and will show a list of games on the left of a nice gui. You can always download snaps for the gui from the ZeNith site as well. Now, Star Gladiator is my first game in the list. On the right of the gui, configure all the game settings, video and especially, the controls. You will need to do this for EVERY game. Video is generally the same the controls have to be done every time for every rom. You can launch a game with ZeNith just to double check the buttons match how you want. Hooray! You have it all done. Now we try out a command line in GameEx. ZiNc will only run from a cmd line. ZeNith should have saved all your control settings for each rom onto a .cfg file. This can be edited but, I'm really not getting into that right now. Anyway, here is the command line we will use - zinc.exe [ROM] --use-slow-geometry=yes --renderer=renderer-ogl.znc --use-renderer-cfg-file=zenith-renderer.cfg --controller=controller-winterblast.znc --use-controller-cfg-file=zenith-controller.cfg --roms-directory=.\roms When setting it up as a emulator, use the ZiNc rom directory that is in the ZiNc folder you set this all up in. If not, non of this will work.
