  1. Thanks again, it's a shame that we couldn't get it working.
  2. Hey, I would like to remove this option but keep the options that allow you to sort games by their year and manufacturer. Furthermore, I need to be able to keep my current theme which is Future Retro. Is this possible? I'm thinking it may be possible through the theme editor however I can't figure out how to use it properly and I'm running out of free time. I would be willing to pay somebody to do it for me if anybody is interested? (For the right price of cause ) If not, but you know how and feel it's fairly straight forward, please give me instructions.
  3. I'm waiting in chat mate. Thanks again.
  4. Hi I have just tried to set this up but, without games to join, I am unable to test if I have done it correctly. Does somebody want to help me? N.B. When running this version of MAME outside of GameEx there is a problem perhaps. I am unable to activate any game inputs, I can however activate MAME inputs (such as pausing the game) - is this a problem? If so, I am clueless as to how I managed to mess it up - what would you suggest? If I can get this working I am going to make one of my current life goals be "to somehow turn ClientServer MAME into a bustling haven of PVP retro bliss " - seriously! To be able to actively play with people from all around globe is awesome, I mean, who really has people available to play with them whenever they want? So many of these games have not got a viable alternative too, a few games are on PSN and the like but there are no other options for most games. Well there is the kaillera but, from what I have read, that is not very user friendly at all!
  5. Really? That's great news, thanks!
  6. If you need a hand Tom, I'm here checking regularly.
  7. [Disclaimer - I'm not very PC savvy but I am learning as I go] It works great for me, I have Mouse set to yes and Touchscreen set to yes. My experience with it was exactly how Tom described it should be and it felt really smooth - not sure why I disabled it actually. I have uploaded a video here - http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xllhll_touchscreen-test_videogames hopefully it's effective at portraying my time with it. Now I'm pretty sure "Enable mouse" NEEDS to be set to yes as our touchscreens are classed as a mouse. Furthermore, I am not exactly sure what the "Enable touchscreen" option does but its description says "changes the clicking behaviour of the mouse", from that I guess it makes it easier for us touchscreen users to use (or at least some touchscreen users). But yeah, I had it on and it was working great. Now I imagine it is to do with your touschscreen's settings. What have you got enabled/disabled? I have also got an Elo and the settings that seemed to be important and what I had them set to are as followed: Untouch Timeout - 10 seconds Mouse Button Emulation Mode - Mouse emulation Adultery/Draco do you have any more ideas?
  8. I'll test it on mine later and see if it still works for me.
  9. It was working for me before I decided to disable the feature... arcadepcnut if your reading this, I will happily help you if you would like. I at least quickly come onto the forum pretty much every day but if you are wanted some help, I am sure I will be able to provide you with reliable and quick support (I could very well need Draco's & Adultery's help however but, you know, they pretty much live for these situations XD lol, seriously though, yeah, they're cool and VERY helpful).
  10. I've got a Blackberry over here so no Flash. Thanks anyway Tom... you've been realising soooo much new stuff, thanks for everything else as well!
  11. TBH I would prefer the list being shorter... perhaps 20 games only. It is what I expect (generally) from recently used lists, and it does seem a tad odd to me (personally). Oh yeah, Draco, thanks for answering my Zinc question a while back - it is much appreciated!
  12. I am using Zinc though I have found out that it doesn't save hi-scores, which is personally a extremely sought after feature. I am wondering if anyone has made this possible, has anyone?
  13. I can't recommend a version of MAME which supports it officially, however, I do know that as of MAME version 0.107u1, hi-score are not officially supported in MAME. However, you can compile your own version of MAME, using any MAME release that was made after it was took out, to add this feature back in. This link should help mate - http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=64298.0
  14. I had something similar appear, about 30% of the time I booted up, when I was first starting to use the awesome Future Retro theme. The problem went away eventually though - I think it is likely that updating GameEx is the reason why. I hope you get it sorted anyway!
  15. This will tell you about it... http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=112702.0
  16. A friendly reminder that I am still uncertain about my question & that I would like to know please.
  17. Like I was saying yesterday mate - thank you for ALL of the work that you have done! It is really appreciated!
  18. The Zinc issue, I wasn't sure what exactly Adultery meant and I am wondering - "1) Is that for both, "run instead of mame" & setting it up as an additional emulator?" Thanks
  19. Bump
  20. Thanks for your quick response! (Again lol) 1) Is that for both, "run instead of mame" & setting it up as an additional emulator? 2) Thanks, I will look into that soon.
  21. 1) Following yesterday's posts about Zinc, I have started to think about getting GameEx to run it again. The answer to my question however, will determine whether this is a viable option for me or not. The question being - do you need to use the D3D renderer, or will the OpenGL renderer be okay? The reason being, many games run terribly slow with the D3D one, and because of this, I would prefer to carry on launching ZincGUI from the additional programs menu, if I couldn't use the OpenGL renderer. 2)My websites, additional programs and the weather utility, are all listed together. I would like to organise there order in the list however, is this possible? If I could only get them to display in alphabetical order, it would be great BTW. I hope I haven't been asking too many questions lately. They will slow down dramatically in the near future - promise!
  22. I agree, furthermore it does ruin the aesthetic consistency and also, I have a few other issues with it. Like I said though, I couldn't get it to work when I tried and I couldn't be bothered to find out what I did wrong, so I left it. I think I will want to in the future though!
  23. Unless you have a touch screen with the cursor hidden, as well as using a snapshot for each game, plus hiding the graphic options, pre configuring all of the config stuff and setting the GUI up (not just the games) to open in full screen view. Though doing it through GameEx would be more cab friendly. I couldn't get it working when I tried, so I'm not using it, but I didn't try that hard to sort it out. It's something I may very well want to do one day. I think I probably will actually.
  24. Hi griggs I am using the same GUI as you so I should be able to help. Now you were talking about command line launching, this is not required when using the GUI. The GUI does all the hard work for you. Now you were correct in saying you will have to get GameEx to launch the GUI, but this is all you need to do on GameEx's end. I have configured GameEx to lauch the GUI from the additional programs section. When you open the GUI, you should see your games in a list. You simply click on a game and then click on "run now", to play the game. To configure controls, you need to configure each games controls individually. This is done by clicking on "setup controller". Then you come to a screen where you can assign your buttons. (I have no knowledge on getting it to work with a 360 pad BTW, I'm not even sure if you can, but this is how it's normally done) Anyway, after you do this you click on "OK" and then if you save your config - by either clicking on "save and run" or clicking on a new game and saying yes to the save prompt, you will not need to configure the buttons for that game again, if you want to use same buttons of cause. If you find some games run slow there are a few things you can do, I'll explain them to you if you need me to, okay. Edit: Also, there's a bug in the program which causes three games (I think) to not have the correct button configuration data saved for them. There is a way round this though. If you can get your pad working for some games, bearing in mind what I just said, I will help you remedy this issue if you want. Second Edit: Actually, I think I misinterpreted what you wanted. In that case I'm sorry for wasting your time reading my post. My way would have just loading up ZincGUI, where you could then select the game you want and play it. You want to be able to view everything from within GameEx up in till you launch a game, don't you. I can't really help there sorry.
