  1. WHAT IS THIS? PinballX now allows you to have custom sounds playing for tables when launched since version 2.13 and later (thanks again Tom for this awesome feature!) You can download all the files that have been made up to date from the GameEX FTP: /-PinballX-/Other Uploads/gStAv/Launch Audio/ ...or via my dropbox link here so now everyone can try them out. HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SAMPLE... It is way harder to select a sound – just one – to go with a table than just recording its main music tune. I usually go and record ALL samples with potential from the ROM. Then I run them together with the table music to see if it works. You want it to blend well, be heard properly and to have the right lenght. It is a pain in the neck sometimes to select just “the one” out of 10+ samples (and sometimes over 100+ looking in STERN’s newest titles!) I guess it’s a combination of what goes good with the music and personal likings. Please drop a comment if you have found a more suiting sample for a table and I put that in to consideration. TIME FLIES FAST... It is quite a tedious process to produce a file and normally one sample takes about 10+ minutes to nail down. This is why I took on the tables listed in my cabinet first and then work my way futher out . Not all tables have samples and will better use the default launch sample in PinballX. HOW TO BROWSE AND HELP OUT... There is many ways to browse a ROM file. The most complete but tedious way is covered HERE by using a modified vPinMAME dll. (Thanx TheMcD) Newer STERN tables can preferably use Pinball Browser 404 (which does not cut off the last bit of the samples played), while some titles could be browsed with M1/ Bridge M1 if supported. I use the same technique when recording as with my table music using WavePad Sound Editor ME but with a normalization to 100% in order to punch the sample a bit over the music when launched. If you find samples for a not yet listed table or a sample to replace a previous one I be more than happy for a request. Please state the following info in the request and I addd it to the archive.  Table name  ROM name  Method used  Memory position  Sample sentence WHERE TO INSTALL? Just place your files in the folder ‘Launch Audio’ for the respective system. ...\PinballX\Media\[system]\Launch Audio\ Remember to have the same name so it matches the table as usual. That’s it. Happy launching!

  3. Hehe yes, it's many phases to go through. Haven't have had the time to play really so trying to crank som audio files on the small free time given (read: Dodge the wife's chores list) Going on a vacation this weekend, so I only have tomorrow so I will try to push what I've made of the launch project so far and I promise to post to sound file for "Arena" before the others on the list as it's allready done for ya guys. Cheers
  4. Wow! That is some impressive order mr. Kuk I can merge this request with one I got from Viktoryk21 which is even a tad longer! Some tables is just MODs of tables done like "Lady Death" which is really a modified "Matahari". No problems though. I get all of them down, just have a lot at work and Real life with my mini pinballer pushing 8 months! I have done like 50% now but I upload when all is done. Also, what I really want atm is to upload my "Launch Audio project" for PinballX as soon as possible. Counted 99 launch files done as we speak. Awesome addition to the allready superb PinballX front end. Cheers!

  7. Hi Tom! Tested it on my PIN2DMD and I could run the no-color test just fine, but when I ran the color function the XDMD froze up and the RGBDMD went black. no color mode didn't work afterwards, guess it dropped the connection. had to disconnect the USB to get it back up... The Lucky1 modified DLL works for me.. Thanks for the work master

  10. Thanks for the freindly feedback! It really means alot I have some more table to do, but in my time which, also is rather limited atm with my 7 month boy, I pushing out cutom launch sounds for the up-coming PinballX. It takes more time to find the right sample then to nail the main music for a table, so do not think I will cover my entire list any time soon though! Also, I have re-uploaded all the samples to the FTP, so no more xxx_v2.mp3 when updated. Remeber to check out my windows sounds too in win friendly wav-format. (Attatched here and on FTP) kinda funny to use instead of the standard sounds. Like 'coin-door open' for when you remove and USB or whatever Stay classy Gustav Windows Pinball Sounds.rar

  12. heres the poste form vpuniverse of my custom logo: "Thanks to the great Pin2Dmd and it's Colorprism FW + the custom PinballX dll file (thanks Lucky1), I now can run my custom HULK themed video in color during attract mode where you select the tables. This look so great but I can't really catch it in the clip, but it looks like a blend between the original footage and the filmed DMD. Maybe the light is too strong from the DMD (or my equipment to shitty *lol*) Original movie made in Sony Vegas: https://youtu.be/2rl8paKId8E Filmed running on my cabs PIN2DMD/rgbDMD : https://youtu.be/DNqB1dyhv4w Hope you like it and get inspired make your custom cab vids (and please, post them for us to see) Thanks all involved in this great project and the continuous development of its firmware. Regards /Gustav"

  22. Haha nailed it Draco! As I think I'm almost covered the tables created atm I thought you maybe could pass along an old request I did on the whish list of features for PinballX. is it possible to add a custom launch sound per table, and just have the standard launch.wav sound play when this file is missing? ex. let's say I place Medieval Madness (Williams 1997).wav (or rather mp3) in my ...\PinballX\Media\Navigation Sounds\ the instead of the standard launch sound you get to hear like (click to hear): -"I'll show you why I am the King of Payne!" Should be reather easy to implement I think. Would be a nice thing to take on as a side project. Cheers gStAv - Ruler of the lost realm of Pinballheim
