Would be cool if we could read mameinfo.dat & messinfo.dat & history.dat in GameEX. What does the community think?

No,you are thinking of the Philips CD-R...another wonderful "all in one" entertainment box from the mid 90's...lol just as expensive as the 3DO and about the same shitty quality..

Yea I would just update to 143u8.not sure that they will run full speed on 32 bit mame build.let me know if they do please!

Gotcha and yes 10,415 is the total amount of games,minus all mechanical games Tom,im just wondering what will happen when more actual games are added,will GameEx see them?

Well that is the 64-bit mame build is better for zinc games,the 32-bit is still lagging.but yes,zinc is a PITA to setup!

without a doubt the GT 240.newer GPU,and if im not mistaken,the 880 is only a direct x 9 card while the 240 is direct x 10.1. I am going to post some screen shots of my HLSL settings in action.these settings are still a WIP,as there is always room for improvement.but yea after playing these games with HLSL on,its hard to go back.in fact,I WONT GO BACK!!

Glad to see you over here now! we have talked before on the HS boards. anyway to get to your question there arent any XBMC like themes for GameEX (i use XBMC as well) but there are some pretty good themes made by our top notch community! currently I am using "megamame 2.2" made by Adultery.did you have a look @ http://www.gameex.com/Download/Themes.aspx? One of my other favorites is "dark champion" by massop and "Space Invaders" by Draco.Great thing about GameEX is that you can take a theme,and mod it to your liking.For example when i use "Dark Champion" I make the video window bigger and the game list smaller.I also change the font type.You are only limited by your choices,likes & dislikes Of course,you can always make a XBMC-like theme

so you have HLSL on?if so,you have to tweak the settings.if you just turn it on in the ini w\o tweaking the settings,everything will look funny Are you running 280.26 nvidia drivers? Once you get HLSL set to your liking,you will find it hard to go back to playing without it!

yes it did.now while a game is highlighted,the full name is displayed on the bottom.the only needed finishing touch to a excellent theme (the fact that it is sort of a tribute to SMB also helps)

Houston,we have a problem.this theme is crashing GameEX it load fine,but after selecting emulated games,the screen goes black and doesnt come back can someone else please confirm this? last line of log 13:04:47.8 10/20/2011: Media Center was not open when starting GameEx, so not launching what does media center have to do with anything? log.zip

Very true.its like they are getting in way over their heads,why add all these pinball\fruit machines to MAME when there are 2 perfectly working emulators that DO run these games.... @ Draco "THE STUPID.....IT HURTS!!"

@ HK yea I remember that post.It was nice to see GameEX getting mentioned.and he is correct.MAMEUI causes more problems then it is worth.not to mention it now takes a eternity to load.thats why CL MAME and a good FE (GameEX) is much more efficient.

because one day MAME will run these games,eliminating the need for AGEMAME & PINMAME...??? I assume? but yea,since Aaron Giles is no longer heading the project and this new guy Kale is,there have been some rather "interesting" changes although I am really happy with u7,since now most of the cave games work! and with u8,the remaining ones w\o sound will have sound. cave games rule! (if you like vertical shooters,that is)

This did not fix the MAME issue,after updating list I still only have 10,415 games. I am going to delete gamelist.txt and yearlist.txt,then update list again and see what I get UPDATE:after deleting both of those files and updating the list again,I still only get 10,415 games It is kind of silly that Tom has to keep upping the limit to include games that do not and will not in the foreseeable future run.but it has to be done because when they actually add more VIDEO GAMES,GameEX wont see them

What nobody like the 3DO? it had 1 or 2 good games....maybe LOL It still blows my mind that this POS system was over $700 in 1993 when it was released.thats what about $2500 in todays dollars with all the awesome inflation?

Just thought I would mention that a new emulator,4DO is actively being worked on and has much better compatibility and does not need a loader to work with GameEX anymore. 4DO Emulator

Me and Freq.always posting at the same time! A map file would be the way to go.just a friendly heads up that nebula is kind of obsolete,since MAME runs all nebula games EXCEPT knights of valor...which may very well be working in 143u7
