according to revo unistaller,I have GameEX 12.31 Now if I choose change view,it sends me into my mame game list,with huge thumbnails,and refuses to let me click back well 12.24 was working fine.I updated to 12.30,everything is messed up.

No change after manual install,now it starts in the megamame theme,then switches to media center instantly Here is the log after manual install,it still thinks im using a v2 theme log.zip

Log it says I am using a version 2 theme,adultery's theme is v4 log.zip

Im not sure if you can see,but in these pics you can see them blending together ok,will try a manual install

No,it takes me from Adultery's Megamame theme,I select emulated games and it switched me to the media center theme. With some themes,I cant even get into my emulated games list,I click on emulated games and it just goes back to the same list.

Yup I have tried with both dark champion & megamame 2.2,it starts with the selected theme,then switches me to media center

Running into a small issue,do you have to use the default theme? using a non-default theme I am unable to enter any gamelists. Actually if I change view,it switches me to the default theme It doesnt matter which theme I choose,once GameEX start,it switches me to the media center theme

@ T goodchild I thought the same when the new setup wizard was released.after about 3 minutes using the new wizard,my opinion did a 180. the old config utility is buggy & tough to navigate.give the new wizard a chance.im sure you will end up changing your opinion of it

Awesome Tom,thanks! but on a side note what are the chances of GameEX supporting history.dat,mame & mess info.dat? I do know of a few people who may have passed on GameEX as their FE of choice because of its lack of supporting those 3 files.Alot of people (usually people just getting into MAME\MESS) seem to like reading all the history and trivia (myself included)!!

I stopped patching with the "no nag hi score" diff when it stopped some games from running.but i have never used hitotext.sorry

gameex works with mameHUB already,doesnt it?

LA Noire:the complete edition.this game is amazing,and reading people's facial expressions and body language to see if they are lying or not is refreshing,as it is actually a new concept for games.I cant recommend it enough.If you do decide to play it dont waste your time & money with the 360\PS3 versions.You need to get the PC version.The console versions do this game a disservice,they are both simply to old for this game to shine in that environment. Nobody but me would like to be able to read history.dat & mameinfo.dat in GameEX?

No-intro sets are just as good,if not better then hyperlist.plus with No-intro,you can customize the dat to include\exclude whatever games you choose.TBH,im not sure how HL sets would fit in with GameEX databases.I think I have a few sets of HL around,I will try and post my the results later.

the date & time dont seem to stay,what i mean is when going through menu's,it appears on top for a split second,then it look as if it gets trapped behind the fore\background?

where do i extract the controls.zip?
