Ok thanks for the replies. I just presumed it was the update because I always have the - Run as Administrator - option unchecked, and each time I automatically update the option gets re-checked and I then uncheck it again. This time though I get the error unless I keep the box checked, but no dice its nothing I can't live with and trust me I appreciate the work you guys do, especially the constant updating. I keep the - Run as Administrator - option unchecked in 7za.exe as well, otherwise when I run a game with an emulator using zip/7-zip/goodmerge the screen goes black and nothing happens because its waiting for confirmation to start the 7za application.

Hello, Everything runs fine when in GameEx.EXE properties under the Compatibilty tab the - Run as Administrator - option is checked, But this brings up the - confirm you want to start the application - message which I'd prefer not to have to use. Unchecking the - Run as Administrator - option which would prevent this msg appearing brings up the following error; 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: GameEx: Version 10.37: Starting Log 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: Operating System Platform: Win32NT 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: Operating System Name: Windows Vista 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: Operating System Version: 6.0.6002 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: Aero running 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: Initializing Vista/Windows 7 volume control 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: Checking for versions of .net Framework installed 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: .net Framework 1.1 Installed 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: .net Framework 2.0 Installed 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: .net Framework 3.0 Installed 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: .net Framework 3.5 Installed 20:57:17.8 22/01/2010: Intel® Core2 CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz, 4094MB 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: 3.24Ghz - 2 Cores or CPU's 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: Running Randomize() 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: --**-- 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: Error: Requested registry access is not allowed. 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowSecurityException(ExceptionResource resource) 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: at Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey.OpenSubKey(String name, Boolean writable) 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: at u.a(Boolean A_0, String A_1, Boolean A_2) 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: at u..ctor() 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: Disposing Plugins 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: GameEx is exiting with errors 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: Deleting search cache 20:57:17.9 22/01/2010: ERRORS DETECTED: EXITING Never had this problem in any previous release. Yea without a doubt and a big thankyou to the authors.

Never realised, I'm obviously looking too much into it, ta.

Unfortunately the loader isn't available anymore. I've tried to knock one up myself based on the Demul Atomiswave_Loader Brian made but to no avail. The difference between Demul and Nebula's Sega Model 2 Emulators is in the Select Rom window. Demul allows the {enter} command to select a rom where as Nebula's Sega Model 2 Emulator needs a Double click of the Left mouse button. I'm out of my depth on how to work this in and what the .ini file should look like. Anyone got any pointers? cheers.
-
Sounds like a plan, cheers. Just had a quick skeg in the Wrappers/Loaders sticky and found a Sega Model 2 config file and a loader as well. . . all's good! Thanks again.

Ok I've sussed out Question 2. It maybe just specific to my pc but if anyone else has the same problem, here is how it worked for me; The - Enable All Games - option in Enable/Disable options in Adv. Config. when changed is only affective when - Enable Start Page - and - Show Start Page First - are set to - No - These 2 options can be set back to - yes - if needed once the - Enable All Games - option has been set to the desired choice, after Gameex has been started with the options at No first.

here it is: log.txt

Cheers for the reply Tom, I'll post the log first thing in the morning.

Hi all again, Got a couple of questions; 1) When using the Sega Model 2 emu in GameEx configured through the Advance Mame Settings, I can't find anywhere to configure the Emu Background either in Adv. Config or theme editor, is it possible? (it uses the Mame Emu background instead) 2) I have - Enable All Games List - set to No in Enable/Disable Features in Adv. Config. Yet on the start page the All Games List still appears at startup, then after entering into any Emulator Games list and returning back to the Start Page the All Games List has disappeared, any ideas? thanks.

Sorry never quite made myself clear with this one, but its ok its sorted now thanks. It was a GIF, converted to AVI and sound added with WinMovieMaker but when saved as AVI no sound played in GameEX (but did in WMP), so I saved it as a WMV instead and it works in GameEX just fine
-
Got it sorted to a point, just converted the GIF to an Avi and used the Video at Startup option in the Multimedia/HTPC category in Adv Config. Only thing is that there is no sound with the video, no doubt its something simple but I've been through Adv Config a few times with no joy. Any Ideas?

Since Demul 0.5.5 came out I don't think there is much between it and Makaron T12. Doesn't Makaron only support GD-Rom based games though? where Demul supports Cart-Based Games and Naomi 2 Games as well. I've uploaded the Compatabilty.txt I got with Demul 0.5.5 and it does crash when playing an unsupported game, other than Power Stone 2 for some reason. Don't think Makaron has NVram support like Demul does either, (please put me right if it does) but I couldn't find a way to save items in Test Mode with Makaron, meaning that everytime a game had to have Cab Players or Screen Orientation changed to work I had to go to the test menu first to change it, which wasn't ideal for a cab. compat.txt

Hi, Is it possible to have an Animated GIF Loading Screen? Thanks.
-
You could probably run multiple versions of Demul each one with a different bios version, the loader and .ini file would still be usable if placed in each Demul Dir. Then maybe group the Demul emulators together in the Advanced Config so you'd just have 1 Demul menu in GameEX. It would prob mean sorting each rom into the specific Demul Dir which is running the appropriate bios. There's probably an easier way, just an idea.

Thanks very much, that Super! I've amended the following 2 lines to how it hopefully would work for Naomi providing I create a new settings1.ini in the Demul Dir for Naomi roms, Please could you check it over for me when you get chance.... I'm no pro at scripting thats for sure. Once I sort it out I'll post the .ini file incase anyone else requires it. Cheers!!
-
Yea I'm using Makaron T12 for the Naomi 1 games and it is great but its just for the Naomi 2 games that makaron doesn't support yet. If its no bother then if you could post the script that would be fantastic, no rush tho I'm off to work now anyway. Thanks.
-
Works great, thanks. Don't suppose you could knock up a wrapper for the Naomi side of Demul to work in GameEx could you? or maybe send me the script for the Atomiswave wrapper so I could edit it to play Naomi. No worries if not, thanks again.
-
Gotcha! Wondered why I couldn't find it anywhere, thanks.
-
Thats what I was wondering, When you auto update GameEx to say 10.23 would this automatically download the latest Mame database file for the latest Mame source release?
-
Hi there, Is the Mame .mdb database file that comes with the GameEx installer package updated to the latest Mame Release? (0.134 as of now) If not is there somewhere I can get the .mdb file from? Cheers.
