  1. Is it possible that the display priority is playing a role? Nvidia has always gone oldest to newest for boot priority: VGA > DVI-A > DVI-D > HDMI > DP

That noted, do you think it might be worth trying HDMI on your playfield and DisplayPort on your backglass monitor, assuming it has that port available?

Yeah, but as WMP is still included with Win11 there's less dependencies required in the plugin just to use that (for now)

Understood and I figured as much. It is the (for now) that concerns me with features they seem to like to axe for no good reason as of late. I use VLC for some online playlists when my Winamp is not capable (yes, still kicking the llama's ass).

  3. In looking at the log.txt file, you are several versions out of current - v 6.07 vs 6.11. I suggest upgrading to the latest version before further triage takes place.

Also, ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER

Please submit new pinballx.ini and log.txt file after you've upgraded after the error condition occurs. Thank you.

  4. I am not familiar with the cabinets that you mention. Can you give more details - What OS? What hardware?

If you are running Windows on them, the Jamma controllers should be compatible.

If you are looking for primarily the "arcade feel" then GameEx Arcade Edition is the way to go IMO.

You can get that and more if you enable the HTPC features of GameEx - the original powerhouse that pulled arcade, console emulation, and multimedia access under one roof.

If you choose Arcade Edition, here is a good startup video by Just Jamie:

  5. You may have been confused by my suggestion to back up your installation (save it somewhere local to you, on a thumbdrive or the like). ;)

I looked at the log and it doesn't say anymore than what you reported:

    07:26:30.9  9/1/2024:  GameEx: Version 5.31: Starting Log
    07:26:30.9  9/1/2024:  Operating System Platform: Win32NT
07:26:30.9  9/1/2024:  Operating System Name: Windows XP
    07:26:30.9  9/1/2024:  Operating System Version: 5.1.2600
07:26:30.9  9/1/2024:  ERROR: An error occured while checking for previous instance of GameEx
07:26:30.9  9/1/2024:  This can be caused by a bad windows or .net framework install.
07:26:30.9  9/1/2024:  GameEx will likely function incorrectly as it cannot check for running processes
07:26:30.9  9/1/2024:  GameEx will now exit with errors
    07:26:30.9  9/1/2024:  Application-defined or object-defined error.
    07:26:31.0  9/1/2024:  ERRORS DETECTED: EXITING

You could try to install the latest version, but be prepared for the possibility of having to update configurations, update emulators, etc. due to compatibility. Over-the-top install would not be recommended for such a jump in versions as the gameex.ini format is much different.

Also, I am not sure that you will not run into issues due to monitor, controllers, or other peripherals in your cab as you are looking at 11+ year old kit. You may also run into .NET errors due to backwards compatibility. .Net 4 is the oldest that is currently supported in the latest versions of GameEx, but that will not last for much longer per Tom's post HERE.

If the original manufacturer is still around, you may be able to get some details about your specific system and upwards compatibility for OS with the PC and peripherals for a newer OS, although hard for me to say if possible not knowing what was installed in your kit.

Sorry, got the logs and was going to send in the morning. Well luck have it my PC decided to crash. New processor is now installed, and starting with a fresh install. Good news is there won't be a bunch of extra BS in the logs when I get everything up and running.

That sucks. Best of luck to ya.
