Is it possible that the display priority is playing a role? Nvidia has always gone oldest to newest for boot priority: VGA > DVI-A > DVI-D > HDMI > DP
That noted, do you think it might be worth trying HDMI on your playfield and DisplayPort on your backglass monitor, assuming it has that port available?

Yeah, but as WMP is still included with Win11 there's less dependencies required in the plugin just to use that (for now)
Understood and I figured as much. It is the (for now) that concerns me with features they seem to like to axe for no good reason as of late. I use VLC for some online playlists when my Winamp is not capable (yes, still kicking the llama's ass).

Have you considered VLC Media Player vs WMP and/or adding it as an optional default?
-
Thanks for reporting back.
Btw, what make/model monitor are you using for the backglass and what type connector (e.g. HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA)?
-
In looking at the log.txt file, you are several versions out of current - v 6.07 vs 6.11. I suggest upgrading to the latest version before further triage takes place.
Also, ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER
Please submit new pinballx.ini and log.txt file after you've upgraded after the error condition occurs. Thank you.

Please attach updated log files from when the error occurred please. Thanks.

We will try to work on the issues of only one PC, please.
Can you explain further what "error of not removing games" means?
-
When reporting an issue, please remember to translate to English and to attach copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files for review. Thanks!

I will need @Tom Speirsto confirm whether or not this is possible with GameEx Arcade Edition as the instructions at the time were specific to GameEx proper.
-
Did you follow the layout noted in this?
Please attach your custom list. Thanks.
-
Please attach (no copy & paste) copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files right after the error occurs.

I am not familiar with the cabinets that you mention. Can you give more details - What OS? What hardware?
If you are running Windows on them, the Jamma controllers should be compatible.
If you are looking for primarily the "arcade feel" then GameEx Arcade Edition is the way to go IMO.
You can get that and more if you enable the HTPC features of GameEx - the original powerhouse that pulled arcade, console emulation, and multimedia access under one roof.
If you choose Arcade Edition, here is a good startup video by Just Jamie:

Ooops, i did not know this. Guess I will try to record the bugs then and post a video .
For my demo and bug capture videos I use the Xbox Game Bar instructions.

I dont use Windows 11 for many obvious reasons, including this "feature", but thanks anyway . If you know any else free to use screen capturing software, let me know it.
Features work for Windows 10 as well.

For screen video capture, I use the built-in Windows features. More here: Windows Screen Recording
For the second bug, I will see if I can replicate it. This may be by design to keep GameEx from loading everything for all games for the sake of minimizing latency. Just a guess and I may be totally wrong.

Two (maybe three) things:
First, please upgrade to the latest version 18.75.
Second, always attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files when reporting an issue!
Third, if possible, please provide a video example of what you are experiencing.
Thanks!

May help if we know what version # and flavor you are running of MAME as there are issues with earlier versions. I am guessing that you may be running into a conflict with that.
Also, please attach your newest gameex.ini and log.txt files from this newest install. Thanks.

Glad you got it sorted!

There is no repository going back nearly that far. The oldest that is available 18.11 found in the download change log. I wish I could tell you something that would make this better for you but I'd have to lie, so I won't.
-
You may have been confused by my suggestion to back up your installation (save it somewhere local to you, on a thumbdrive or the like).
I looked at the log and it doesn't say anymore than what you reported:
07:26:30.9 9/1/2024: GameEx: Version 5.31: Starting Log
07:26:30.9 9/1/2024: Operating System Platform: Win32NT
07:26:30.9 9/1/2024: Operating System Name: Windows XP
07:26:30.9 9/1/2024: Operating System Version: 5.1.2600
07:26:30.9 9/1/2024: ERROR: An error occured while checking for previous instance of GameEx
07:26:30.9 9/1/2024: This can be caused by a bad windows or .net framework install.
07:26:30.9 9/1/2024: GameEx will likely function incorrectly as it cannot check for running processes
07:26:30.9 9/1/2024: GameEx will now exit with errors
07:26:30.9 9/1/2024: Application-defined or object-defined error.
07:26:31.0 9/1/2024: ERRORS DETECTED: EXITING
You could try to install the latest version, but be prepared for the possibility of having to update configurations, update emulators, etc. due to compatibility. Over-the-top install would not be recommended for such a jump in versions as the gameex.ini format is much different.
Also, I am not sure that you will not run into issues due to monitor, controllers, or other peripherals in your cab as you are looking at 11+ year old kit. You may also run into .NET errors due to backwards compatibility. .Net 4 is the oldest that is currently supported in the latest versions of GameEx, but that will not last for much longer per Tom's post HERE.
If the original manufacturer is still around, you may be able to get some details about your specific system and upwards compatibility for OS with the PC and peripherals for a newer OS, although hard for me to say if possible not knowing what was installed in your kit.

Per your log file:
Can you look in the log.txt file from your most recent install and confirm that the version shows 18.75 (latest) instead of 16.73 as the version?

Sorry, got the logs and was going to send in the morning. Well luck have it my PC decided to crash. New processor is now installed, and starting with a fresh install. Good news is there won't be a bunch of extra BS in the logs when I get everything up and running.
That sucks. Best of luck to ya.

A question for you regarding the new monitor - did you change the way it connects to the PC, such as from VGA to HDMI, DisplayPort or the like?
-
GameEx v5.31 is quite old and well beyond our current ability to triage, I'm afraid.
If you can locate the log.txt file this may give us more to work with.
I make no promises that there will be much more that can be done than to recommend that it's time to upgrade your kit.

Good to hear! Thanks for the additional information regarding the monitors and solution as this may help the next person that experiences similar issues!
