If this was in the GameEx forums, it should autosave.

Probably experienced some lag - or a "ping stutter" it happens. Ye Ol' Addage applies - "Patience is a virtue" :)

  2. or you can specify the executable directly instead of pointing to a shortcut. I put in (name of specific game).exe in the rom filter with setting the working path. it works pretty well for me. I also set my PC games in an emulator group so it shows "PC Games" in the main menu with the list of my computer games. my only problem now is it only flashes the custom background instead of leaving it on screen. i end up with a black screen and "borderlands 2" on screen. but i digress and thats a separate problem for a separate thread.

    all is lost

    25tb jesus. i thought i had a collection.
  4. $80 if i remember right is for all of the movies evar on dvd shipped to your door. the $20 is just for subscription so you can download it. personally id rather have it on dvd.
  5. maybe im the more pessimist of the bunch, but it friggin works with integrated. when you set it up separate, be prepared for problems.
  6. i have seen romset and version mismathes work halfway. when this is done you typically see problems with roms not showing up and sometimes screw up when launching. keep it simple, match the versions up like others have stated. It seems you are kinda fresh so ill give you some advice. get used to going to the setup wizard and dont trust it. double and even triple check settings by setting it once and closing out the wizard just to open it up again and to make sure your settings stayed. you can and will get it working with enough perseverance. Also make sure command line paths and options are correct. this will save you time trying to figure out why something isnt working.
  7. I was able to get it working. its frustrating when certain things get saved while other important options dont get saved. I guess the pink elephant in the room is, why it didnt recreate the cache in the bloody first place when i know for a fact it was correctly set in the emu 9 group.
  8. Deleted cache files for emulator 8, still now just showing "No Games Found", I just doublechecked and the way that i have it set up is to scan subfolders. when switched to a different emulator group it will default that,, and so when i change it i have to make sure it is set to scan sub-folders. still tinkering.
  9. just tried swapping it with emulator 8 (Sega 32X) now it shows the 32x games in the list.
  10. thats not it. i see the cache files for emulators 1-8 and 10-12. i believe it is kega fusion GameEx.ini
  11. hmmm. i just looked into it today. there are no emulator 9 cache files at all.
  12. sell them if i can. donate them if i cant. its a nice tax writeoff at the end of the year.
  13. im pretty sure its the roms. instead of silpheed, its slypeed, etc. some people should never touch a computer, let alone a rom naming scheme.
  14. and this is the EXACT type of response i am looking for. thank you for the information. also i dont believe i am using the database but i may be wrong.
  15. So I have been fairly happy with what I have been able to get gameex to do, but I ran into an issue on a setup I am doing for a friend. segaCD images show up fine, but when a rom is renamed (like for one that is misspelled), it does not update in gameex. this causes gameex to try to load a file that isn't there. is there a way to perform a manual rom scan for emulators? I have run the setup wizard a couple of times (while not making any changes) hoping it would notice the changes but so far it has not. Thanks,
  16. i have thought about just extending the cords. but with 4 people all around one tv, cords knocking over drinks will happen regardless. my gf likes the xbox 360 version for the first link so we will use x360 controllers for mame, nes, snes, ps1,ps2, and dreamcast emulation. i worry about n64, gamecube, sega genisis/saturn/cd. and its frustrating that i cant find a single wireless solution for this. no bluetooth, no 2.4ghz wireless, nada for this type of configuration. i will give an update on how well this belkin works with the wireless usb. if its too cumbersome or too laggy i will order the original link i first purchased.
  17. unplug the connector to the power button from the motherboard to the power button. personally i would enable some sort of sleep enabling so it goes into a hibernation mode for the problem you are having. even if the power gets disconnected you might be able to wake it out of sleep without issues. but it will appear off to the cleaning lady so no need to unplug it.
  18. use the setup wizard and double/triple check directories because they usually default to the wrong directories. correct and play. good luck.
  19. you get sore after playing on the atari 2600 controller? pftt your lack of gamer is disturbing. yeah n64 on a x360 controller just doesnt feel right. my other concern is sega saturn/sega cd games. 6 button vs. 4 button on the right hand. im not entirely a huge stickler for authentic, but on the sega stuff, and n64 controller is hard to get the feeling right on a x360 controller. i know there are wireless n64 controllers, but the sega controllers arent offered wireless anywhere. and i worry about adapter compatibility hell if i try to use the console wireless iterations with a port to usb converter.
  20. having a heck of a time trying to figure this out. with all the retro usb controllers coming out, i simply love my n46 usb controllers. only problem is, the bloody wires. bluetooth controllers are hit/miss, the only ones i have found are NES and SNES bluetooth controllers. Currently i am looking at this solution: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA5HT1ZF0045&cm_re=usb_hub_network-_-9SIA5HT1ZF0045-_-Product back in the day Wireless USB promotion group was really trying to get this type of solution out there...and failed for the most part. anyone got a better solution? something that i am just not paying attention to? Thanks, Charles Lam
  21. never even thought about getting dosbox working with gameex. if you get it working with some abandonware games i would love to see a demo.
  22. yeah just tried it. works fine. my cadillacs and dinosaurs game just stays loaded at the screen where sonic is shaking his finger. im thinking bad file. others work fine. i also notice though none of my games are playing background music... guess i have more tinkering to do. it might be the image files not the emulator though as there are normal game sounds playing.
  23. it was my understanding that the default syntax is [Virtual Drive]. using the rom path and file option is much more convenient.
  24. to my knowledge, you cant check it. but i do believe it continues to download regardless of gameplay, it just does it in the background. the only problem is the automatic downloads use underscores instead of spaces and similar but diifferent folder names. instead of boxes it uses box, instead of nintendo 64 folder it uses nintendo_64, so you have to manually set it before it downloads for them to show up. or do what i do, and use the automatic downloader utility and then copy and paste into the default active directories.
